Let's not generalize. ONE dj from ONE station said that they tend to pay more attention to texts than Mediabase forms. [shrugs] Different stations may do things differently. I, personally, have never heard my local radio stations ask for text requests. That said. if people hear about text requests for Adam songs, lets post them here on ATOP.Thanks! Some stations actually discard texts requests because they are hard to tabulate. The best thing is to look at your local station's website and listen to the drive-time and request programs. The stations make it clear how they want to get requests. My local KISS station wants online requests from their website, so that is what I do. Real listeners of stations know how to request. If you are not a "real" listener, then do a few minutes of research to figure it out. There are no standard methods of requesting. ETA: Do not text a request to a station that has not asked for it. Do not do anything that looks like a fan campaign. It helps to request different ways on different days. Call one day, text another, send a MB Request for once a week, etc. I did as you suggested for my local chicago stations and looked around their websites and facebooks and discovered we have the wrong phone numbers listed for both stations. The pop station ( 103.5 Kiss FM) asks for texts requests. The HAC station has both text and a phone request line options for requesting. 103.5 Kiss FM Contest line: 855.591.1035 (this seems to be mostly for contests but it's the # a DJ an the website gives to contact them. The one listed now is for prize pick ups) Text us @ 51035 I don't know if they ask for text requests on air but this is how they ask for song requests on their facebook. 101.9 the mix Office: (312) 946-1019 ( This is the # we have on Atop instead of the request line) Request/Studio Line: (312) 591-6800 Text The Mobile MIX @ 60123 Sorry to be a PIA but I hope this info helps. ETA: Looks up...awwww so cute

is this a rhetorical question? I am going brain dead obviously - how do you vote on the Huff Post vote? it IS #2 now btw... no it wasn't a rhetorical question. I don't understand why people would request a song from a station they don't listen to...how would they know if it got played if they aren't even listening? How do you know they are not listening out of area? I listen to a lot of stations out of area, becasue, I live in the Atlanta area, and despite his radio gigs, none are playing him. So I listen to stations that do. I listen to Q102 a lot. Atlanta's stations are mostly Cumulous, and we know Cumulous's track record of playing Adam. Some relented at the end and did play him. As I was driving on Saturday they played IIHY on 94.7. My son and I whigged out and enjoyed. I knw every flipping song out in Top 40 and have a few favorites like We Are Young. NCOE would do really well if played. He is competeting with the British invasion and the Biebs. I heard from my so that IIHY was his favorite song from era 1. By the way he loves Shady and so do I.

The message that comes back when you text Play LAMB to WKTU is "You'll get 1 msg. b4 we play Never Close Our Eyes" then right before they play it, they text you again. This station is obviously set-up for texting requests. Myspenser, there are a lot of stations set up for texting and requesting on-line other than mediabase. U can't tell me every tween is filling out a mediabase form. They are either tweeting or texting, multiple times. We need to get with it !!! Hell, I did 8 request this weekend for Q102 on twitter
