It's so calming over here ... thank you all for keeping this thread alive. I didn't want to post this on the News Thread since it's not about Adam and it is political. I don't know if politics are allowed to enter this zone (might be less calming for some), but I think it is a brilliant parody ... if you are not up for a political message, don't click. www.onetermmore.com/video_subtitles.htmlHow about if you are not up for a political fight, don't post "political messages" here. PLEASE people, and isitjustme, lets keep politics off of this site. I would NOT call this brilliant, I would call it insulting. I could say a lot of things about it, but I am not going there. I could also find something just as biased and degrading to contradict this video championing "One More Term", but again, I am not going to go there. I don't want to feel insulted, and I don't want to talk politics and I don't want to see biases like this, or political views/messages or anything about candidates or anything to do with the election on this site. I come here to celebrate Adam. IMO, there are other places for this "brilliant parody", and the Moon Garden is not the place, not here. Also, I would like to say that I am not looking for a fight, I just don't want to see any political messages on Adamtopia. Q has already banned them on the Daily Thread, I think it is an excellent rule. What we all have in common is our love for Adam. We come from different places, and we have different views on many things. Let's keep it focused on the amazing Adam Fucking Lambert. Please, and thank you. |

2 days till I leave for my trip to Scotland/England, where I will be taking the first 2 week vacation I have had since my honeymoon 30 years ago. Will be hanging for a couple of days with my BFF UK Glambert, and will get to see all the places that Adam sang. This is why I wasn't there for QueenBert in July.
Junie, sorry I missed your BD, hope it was grand, and glad you have a new bunny buddy.
Great to see Mika posting (on the thread today) hope he comes back here soon.
I hope the Moon Garden is thriving when I return!

I agree with mahailia. I actually am very interested in politics but the internet is overflowing with places to talk about it. The election is going to be ugly and we all need beauty and fun to get through the next six weeks -- therefore, please let's talk here about Adam.

Well, jeez. Sorry that happened. To me it just goes to show why we should steer clear of politics!
A favorite novel of mine from yesteryear is A Shade of Difference by Allen Drury. He wrote political novels, a now-deceased species I believe. A character named Hal Fry, a senator and an uncommonly decent man, made this speech -- I dug it out because it expresses my views in this hour of our country's history:
Oh, Mr. President! How does mankind stand, in this awful hour? Where does it find, in all its pomp and pride and power, the answer to its own fateful divisions? Where on this globe, where in this universe, is there any help for us? Who will come to our aid, who have failed so badly in our trusteeship of the bounteous and lovely earth? Not trying to spam, hope I'm not. Just wanted to keep the topics separate. Things are sloooow since QAL ended and Adam got back from Japan. What is happening? Who knows? Maybe we'll know pretty soon. Maybe today! I would be interested to know if anyone would like to meet in the chat room on Thursday evening for a Moon Garden chat? I realize we have so many different time zones ... let me know what you think. Second ... is anyone up for doing something fun today? I have an idea, hope a few others will play along.
The Last Pictures"The Last Pictures" is an art project with an amazing mission. Artist Trevor Paglen was selected to choose 100 photographs to represent the human race. The photos will be inscribed on an ultra-archival disk and put on a satellite, one expected to remain in Earth's orbit for millions of years. The idea is that long after the world we know passes away, these photos will be there for our future selves, or other beings, to find and know us. Paglen worked with scientists, artists, anthropologists, and philosophers to choose the photos, but now suppose at the last minute, he has added Glamberts to the list! Your job: to nominate ONE photo ONE video ONE song to represent Adam to the future. Off to think about it now ... hope some will play.  And let me know if anyone is up for the chat room on Thursday; might be fun. |

There is no need for you to leave Atop, it is a wonderful place with wonderful people, and you are one of them. I think that most of us have broken a rule here at one time or another, it is no big deal. In fact, one of the primary rules is to not tell other people what is appropriate to post, and I broke that one in my response to your post. I didn't mean to chase you away, and I hope you will rejoin and enjoy all the fabulosity of AFL. Please come back. |

Truly while issues might arise for discussion, party politics can be too much like team sports in 'us vs them' esp using broad, (not entirely accurate) humor. And I think we generally do have calm here because we try to talk it out..  . Mahailia, I think your post was very courteous. anyway~ I am being crushed a bit by work/travel but Fall IS finally here! I've locked my office door and am staring at changing leaves out my window so not waiting for autumnal equinox when I will likely be on a plane. NOTE: in place of substance please don't let it squash your fervor if I add some housekeeping suggestions to Junie's great! idea above. -- check the size of photo in preview before posting. Please aim for 'not Huge'  - try for medium. Hmm something that would fit easily in Junie's post above? Feel free to ask for help in resizing as needed. -- Maybe briefly preface why you think it would be the best offering for our future galactic overlords (I've been watching a lot of SyFy) . -- Consider titling and linking vid and/or song instead of embedding both. (J - were you thinking the vid would be Adam interviews or taped comments?? Or one of his music vids or any of the above?) ETA: Also, if someone has chosen the pic, vid, song you would have selected, feel free to choose same. BTW - yes im overthinking it! sadly I'm not nearly this tidy at home. Although yes I did just channel work anger/frustration into rearranging all my office furniture, squashing fingers in process. WELCOME BACK MIKAWe don't have fall leaves but even here it is down below 90 and fall is in the air! Yay!  I like the housekeeping suggestions for my ad hoc idea in my last post. So -- please play. Here we go again: "The Last Pictures" (detailed above) is a real project, in which an artist is attempting to represent the human race to beings who might come upon our planet in the far distant future. For fun, we're playing that our job in the Moon Garden is to nominate ONE picture, song, or video that represents Adam to these people of the future, so that they may know his greatness! The video can be a performance or an interview or one of his music videos. As mika suggested, don't put too much in your post, so we don't crash anyone's machine. If you want to nominate one of all three -- picture, song, and video, use modest sized pictures, and if you want to do more than one vid, link to it instead of embedding. But remember, less is more! The time capsule is pretty full already. Make their faces crack -- those future galactic overlords, that is.
