Getting ready to go to GG Park with DH. So glad to see it's sunny in those early pics!!  It can be super cold and foggy there in the summer. |

My power voting weekend continued today with some jazz, Charlie Haden Quartet West: Always say goodbye. Also watched (or listened) a Finnish tv programme and clicked away. Result 100 for Billboard and 500 for Q102, yay! I really enjoyed the jazz for a change and I think I might play another record of theirs, In Angel City, to accompany my ironing which has to be done too |

Okay - I couldn't resist ... I had to make the big step from lurking to writing :-) I've been reading this board for quite a while and I was so relieved, to find other Cuckoos like me *gg* And here is my first question: Does anybody know what the pink stuff on Adams hand and shirt in this big picture with Sauli is? I was just wondering... , I love the fact that it took pink stuff on Adam's hand to get you to delurk!! Welcome!!! |

Another Haden that goes good with voting - Steal Away (Charlie Haden/Chuck Jones) - try Wade in the Water or L'Amour de Moy. My fingers are sore from voting for Adam, but my mind is calm  ETA: HANK Jones - brain freeze  |

Just for interest I went on Ticketmaster....Around 1570 plus tickets sold and 1700 approx still available. Adding up the ticket revenue it comes to about $65,000. Some of you who know more about these types of concerts...have mentioned Adam must ask for a flat rate and the casino hopes to rake in the money for gambling. I sure hope so. Maybe can't be too disappointed---Kelly Clarkson/The Fray ... Rod Stwewart, Pitbull are the only groups that are drawing more number for the summer musical guests, than Adam. And they are not full houses either. (But R Steward has 2 nights booked so he actully has drawn in more concert goers.) Flying the band there, wages for the band, tech guys....taxes, etc etc. If the casino asks him to perform, I guess why not ...make a bit of money, and it does seem like a bit for expenses (all these free radio, TV gigs) prior to his tour. Have fun whomever is in attending the chilly concert today! Looking forward to the youtubes with closer to a full hour set of singing. |

Thanks for the suggestion, I must find that record too some day but I think my voting for today is done now (and I can only use my CDs when ironing because I have so few electricity outputs that I have to take computer off to fit in the iron - third record of CH I have is Haunted Heart which I will save for next week ) |
