I went back yesterday and checked out some Freddie Mercury videos. I have to say, got quite nostalgic. Queen was (is!) GREAT. Gawd, it seems they've always played to huge venues. Roger, John, Brian and Freddie were stellar. Brian seems to have become even better (or maybe it seems that way as I now am crushing madly). In any case, what was very apparent is that you cannot compare Freddie to Adam and vice versa. That's why (to me) the Hollyword Reporter review is so valid. Adam's interpretation was his own. As Adam has said himself, Freddie is Freddie -- one extremely unique, talented, supreme showman. I admire Adam for playing it just right. The little vamping that he did was great but anything more may have been interpreted as an imitation. It's exciting to see what he's going to do next with this material. (If there are no more streams, at least we have Kiev!) I did a little reading about Deacon and him leaving the group. I may not have this entirely correct but it seems he retired as he felt the group was no longer complete without Freddie -- maybe that may contributing to the polarizing feelings about anyone stepping in to cover the songs.
eta: I wish Adam would wear that black top that has the long flowing material off the back -- over leather, of course!

That was my first thought too! I wonder if Adam noticed the resemblance.
Maybe the love child of Kris and Cheeks?

And I thought Ukaine Idol Guy looked either like Philip2 or Lee Dewhatever (I do get them mixed up).
Maybe there's a WGWG cloning factory somewhere we don't know about?
