I have been immersing myself in Queen's music in preparation for the concert (bought the 3-CD set from Amazon). Is it me but the second time Freddie sings this line....."on and on, what are we living for....", I swear I hear, "what are we licking for"...kept going to that part and that's what I hear, the rest he says living. Yeah, baby, I know what we are going to be licking if we had our way .....LOL!
OK, off to the airport now. I will have each and everyone of you in spirit as we soar with Adam in his!

Hope I can say this clearly - the difference I see between these Queen concerts and say, Madonna or Katy Perry concerts (not dissing them, but the style that has developed, which I guess is what the customers want) is the former is a celebration of the music, and the latter is a celebration of the presenter. IMO. (sorry for the run-on sentence :-)) You said it perfectly. It fits so well with these quotes from Adam's Huffpo interview: Like Brian May said, Adam is a natural-born performer. He was born to do this. I think, in the beginning of his post-Idol career maybe Adam's biggest role model for "fame and fortune and everything that goes with it" was somebody like...Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga has to create and re-create and continually maintain an artifice, a persona. As tiresome as it may be for her, it's become even more tiresome for me to watch. In his "Trespassing" era, Adam is growing into the self-awareness of simply being Adam Lambert. He already has so much stage presence and a larger-than-life natural personality. He can more than hold his own sharing a stage with rock royalty while barefoot and wearing a tank top. These are the kinds of things I was so hoping for in his relationship with Brian and Roger--that it would reinforce Adam's confidence and security---knowing that just being Adam Lambert is everything he needs to be. Gimmicks like being carried onstage in an egg, or diving into a volcano, can be left to lesser talents that need the overcompensation. |

Yay someone just came up to me and saw my wallpaper and said "Oh is he singing w/ Queen already?" I'm like yes next concert tomorrow!!! Wooohoo! (sorry don't know many Adam fans around me :( ) They wanted to know if he was playing around here anytime or is it just overseas. Sadly (for now it's overseas.

I'm not sure if my or Zinnia's brains are working, but we try... when we have time from Queenberting! ;D We're going to London next week so when/if there are new Tutkas or blogs, the translations may be delayed. Don't know if anyone's interested in them at the moment but maybe you want to check them out later when there's not so much going on, so we'll keep on doing them. |
