I have divided the Innuendo session demos into two sections.
First three - My Secret Fantasy, Robbery, and Self Made Man
First
My Secret Fantasy
Written by John Deacon (w/Freddie?)
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - vocals, keyboards
Brian May - guitars, keyboards, harmonies, vocals
Roger Taylor - drums, percussion, keyboards, harmonies, vocals
John Deacon - bass guitar, keyboards
- Unfortunately with the crackdown there is no YT vid.
- Definitely some John influence here as it's a bass and piano riff and a lot of Freddie high oooohs
PERSONAL NOTES:
- FAR from finished but not bad. It would have been different than anything on Innuendo but perhaps it's for the best it was unfinished.
Robbery
Written by: Roger Taylor
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - vocals
Brian May - guitars
Roger Taylor - drums, percussion
John Deacon - bass guitar
- Again far from finished but a nice rock riff.
PERSONAL NOTES:
This one is ok, and I wouldn't mind seeing how they finished it off but at this point it's a standard rock riff.
Self Made Man
Written by: Brian May
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - vocals, keyboards
Brian May - guitars, keyboards, harmonies, vocals
Roger Taylor - drums, percussion, keyboards, harmonies, vocals
John Deacon - bass guitar, keyboards
- A nearly finished demo
- Brian and Freddie trade off lead vocals. Brian sings the first part which is more melodic and then when it rocks out, Freddie takes over.
PERSONAL NOTES:
- THIS one should have been finished. This had a shot to be something special. This also has enough done that the band could probably do something with it!

See your face - you've got no-one to love you back
You better, better win this place - you know it's the promised land
Don't let it hold you
Don't let it
You better
You bet it
It's gonna hold you
You bet it's gonna take control
That tears your soul
Trust - that'll make you self believe
To be a self made man
Turn that stuff - that defines your role to be, ooh
To be a self made man
Get a heavy job - don't let them moguls waste your time (she's going down the line)
To be a self made man
Do you wanna be my honey?
Do you wanna be my girl?
Do you have the time to meet me?
Do you wanna be my honey?
Do you wanna be my girl?
Do you have the time to meet me?
Yeah
Self made, self made man
Ooh, girl gotta make yourself believe
Gotta turn that stuff, see your face, know I'm a made man
In this place, known promised land
Self made man
Self
Be a self made man
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do, be a self made man
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do, be a self made man
Self made man
Self made man
