It's interesting how the first reports were about the producers of AI talking ABOUT Adam Lambert being a possible judge. It is now being reported he is IN TALKS, with the rest of the wording of the article identical to the first. So basically copying, but just changing a few words... :  ;D Ahhh, modern journalism... |

So, I am logging into atop here this morning just harmlessly sipping my tea to find that 2013 could see an idol judge who is fronting Queen. Welcome to the AL roller-coaster, folks! You thought that fate was reserved for Aerosmith? Not so fast. In fact, I would want Katy Perry and Will-I-am to join him on that panel. Modern, rap and pop and rock, all three eloquent, opinionated, funny and successful with real personality, skill and guts. The ratings would be back to the early days in no time. And I have the strange feeling that the end result will be that it is working on all three sides for Adam too. Queen et AL clearly works AL as judge would totally work Adam's singles would finally get attention (album too), which along the radio path does not work Additional benefits: a) Adam as fashion icon (J-lo footsteps) and he would finally get the clothes for free b) Adam back into mainstream conscience in a role other than the freak show one that the media loves to portrait him in for ratings. All of a sudden conservative America would be reminded how nice and in the end 'normal' (as in non-threatening) Adam actually is. c) Contrary to Perez, I think Adam would lift AI ratings, which neither of the 3 others (KC, CU, JHud) would do. The only downside I see right now, is that this means that Jan - May as well as July is not available for Queen touring. Those are pretty big chunks of time. But we will see how it plays out. Jeez, RL is calling for me, but I sure would love to pull up a chair and get the popcorn going right about now! |

LOL! I love Slezak!! it looks as though the show might be looking for a home-grown talent to replace Tweedle-Huh?, Tweedle-Abs, or Tweedle-Yo!  In case you don't watch Idol, "Huh?' is Steven. "Abs" is JLo, and "YO" is Randy! Adam should replace Steven. |

Oh, and just because it's fun, my "dream team" on Idol would be Adam, Katy Perry, and Steven Tyler. Probably should have someone connected with urban music, but need someone who is incoherent for the lulz and don't know anyone with that description in that genre! Plus it would span old and new and the chemistry between KP and AL would be off the charts! (BTW, as you prolly know, she's the one filming the kissing scene.)
Replace Steven Tyler with Harry Connick, Jr. and you have my Idol dream team. Harry is really funny, and when he was a mentor he proved that, like Adam, he can offer good criticism without being mean. The only coherent remark Steven ever makes is, "That was beautiful." Even when it clearly wasn't. |
