I wasn't going to mention going to London, because, believe me, I know what it's like to be feeling left out of events, but this pic just got me teary-eyed. We're leaving in 5 hours. I feel completely unworthy of meeting all of you clever and articulate (and prolific!) Atoppers who are attending.
For those who are coping with feelings of missing out, let me just say right now in my kitchen cabinet I have two unused Fantasy Springs tickets for the epic concert a few years back. I bought the tix, but couldn't work out childcare and hadn't "outed" myself enough to my husband to convince him to ask for time off at work to fly across the country for one night. (Couldn't go by myself at the time because didn't know if he would be in town to take care of kiddos.)
I remember coming home the night of the show and listening to the cellcast with my husband (who was in town after all, of course
). The audio wasn't that good, but it was still quite obvious a performance for the ages. Our jaws were on the ground.
So, the point is, you will all get your chance. And if there's ever anything I can do to help anyone get toward that chance, I would welcome the opportunity. None of us can know ahead of time what the great ones will be (I won't be going to Saturday's show, so I know there are things I will miss out on.) It just comes with the territory. We as fans can't be at everything (well, unless we're Suz526
), but we can experience vicariously, which is awesome.
Btw, the hubs is totally onboard now! I think he's realized a side benefit of supporting my stanning. ;D And we're celebrating our 20th anniversary (small potatoes compared to Osma!
) plus a big birthday, so I had a lot of leverage to convince in for this one.
