wal, didn't you say you ripped that Capital live chat? I'd love to see or hear is response, again, to the Idol question I remember his answer was very sly, but I want the exact words.

I was actually talking about the Brian May article---do we know these are all actual Queen fans commenting. It would be really easy to post something nasty about Adam under the guise of being a "concerned" or "disgruntled" Queen fan.
And now I've done it. I have let myself get excited over this AI judging thing which will probably never happen. But it just seems like an answer to the question of how to get huge exposure when radio is not working. Adam needs something "big" to change his trajectory in the US. I thought Queen might be it, but, strangely, the media seems to have had more interest in the mere idea of Adam fronting Queen than the actual thing.

My 2c regarding the whole "success" criterion: If Adam could be as successful without radio as he is with it, I'd say screw American radio! Unfortunately, it's clear that his lack of radio presence is having a real impact on his sales and concert attendance numbers. As someone posted earlier, his concerts that have been announced in the US, while still selling remarkably well, are not nearly the numbers of his GNT or even pre-GNT. And we all know his single/album sales, etc. (of course, accounting for the fact that sales are lower in general, but not single sales they are not). So because of all these, it's clear to me he needs either radio or some sort of other type of visibility to continue selling. I agree. There are only a few reasons why his music isn't selling: - Listeners don't like it. - People aren't aware of it. Although I realize that Adam isn't going to appeal to everyone, I prefer to think that the problem isn't that people who hear Trespassing don't like it, or like it less than FYE. So, I think it is mainly an awareness problem. That's why radio is so important. Like it or not, it is still the most effective way to build awareness for new music. Next best might be a regular TV slot (not one-off guest appearances). So, from a business standpoint, I think the AI gig might make sense. I'm just not sure whether the producers would consider Adam to be a big enough star who could in turn help attract a large enough audience for the show. And I think if J Lopez leaves, they will want to get another woman to replace her. But Adam replacing Randy sounds good to me. I'm hoping that all of this internet buzz and Adam's positive response means something good is on the horizon. Adam only got 21 Top 40 station adds outt of 100s possible) for NCOE. BTIKM had more! :-/ At it's peak, NCOE had 16 stations giving it OK to good spins. So it was definitely a case of people not being aware of it. |

OK guys, sorry to ask this because I don't know if it's people from here or not but if any of you know the glamberts who are buying up all the copies of Trespassing in the stores in London will you please ask them nicely to freakin' well stop! While I know they have good intentions, they are preventing UK people from buying the album. I know three people who went out in London to buy today and couldn't get any because people have been multi-buying.
A load of Americans buying up all the copies is not going to convince the store managers that there is a huge British demand. Just please. Buy one copy and just stop.
