some musings ..Sometimes I think that I want instant supersonic success for Adam.. but then I think about where he was three years ago and where he is today.I'm beyond impressed with Adam, with us, his fans and with his world wide reputation. Adam is truly the success story that Idol speaks to America about. He is living the dream, when most contestants from AI are not heard from again.Much is due to his drive, his talent , &his knowledge of the ups and downs of the business.Yes He" wants it all and he wants it now". But he knows that nothing is perfect and there will be good days and bad days, ups and downs. I bet he thought his new career was over with the AMAS & with that bit in Finland with Sauli and yet he's still here, even more popular than ever. Even Queen didn't sell out the concerts completely, they seemed fine with approx. 25,000 people rather than 40,000 in Poland. sometimes I think I am being a bit unrealistic and a bit impatient,so I'm going to try to sit on my immediate gratification nature and try to be thankful every day for the gift of Adam. He's no longer a chorus boy,he's no longer an understudy,he's no longer singing in a cabaret with maybe 30 people semi listening to him pour his heart out in song. He's mega famous and radio is only one part of that fame, Adam knows what to do& he knows how to strategize.According to his friends he's a great game player, almost always wins.Isn't this the game of life ? I have faith in Adam and I have faith in his future.. It's in the stars...It's Kismet.

We know it's American women because store clerks have been telling people that. The iTunes effort is completely different from buying up all the store copies. Because guess what? iTunes doesn't run out of stock. Edited by modAlso fyi, multiple copy buying of any album in one store counts as one sale not multiple sale for that week's numbers, unless you buy ever copy with a different card. The sales count towards the overall sales total later down the line but they DON NOT COUNT TOWARDS FIRST WEEK SALES. They do that to prevent labels & artists trying to falsely boost sales. So even if they tell the clerk to log it seperately, it still counts as one? Cause I saw someone on twitter buying 10 copies at 1 HMV store. Yikes This is part of the problem and why people are asking others to think. I know people mean well, I really do. But it is not helping.

Because guess what? iTunes doesn't run out of stock. If you can't understand why a load of Americans buying all the stock meant for British consumers is not helpful then I don't know what to tell you. Also fyi, multiple copy buying of any album in one store counts as one sale not multiple sales for that week's numbers, unless you buy every copy with a different card. The sales count towards the overall sales total later down the line but they DO NOT COUNT TOWARDS FIRST WEEK SALES. This is not a secret, it's pretty much common knowledge for anyone who knows anything about how the charts work. It's the same way in the US with the Billboard charts. They do that to prevent labels & artists trying to falsely boost sales. You may be right about the multiple copies and how they will be counted. I claim no knowledge about how that works in the UK. HOWEVER, the tone of your posts makes it seem like the US fans are being selfish and greedy, when that is not the case at all. They are trying to help Adam be successful. A more useful approach is to educate fans on how they can make sales count, since that's the goal. People have been trying to do that but blinkers have been put on and they are refusing to listen despite people being as polite as possible. And if you read my post I said that I know people mean well. Obviously they do. But it is not helping. At all. Lets be careful here not to lecture each other. Your point's been made regarding multiple sales to 1 person.

I think it would be brilliant! 6 months ago, I would have said "no way!" But that was when I thought radio would actually play Adam's great songs. Now, today, I know differently. RCA needs an alternative way of getting Adam played and sold. This could be it. He could still tour. The judges work two days a week, for 1/2 a year. All the singing shows now have Big Top 40 artists as judges. If Idol is even considering him, it is great! Plus the pay would be amazing. It would increase his visibility he could sign on for 1 year only, make great $ and it has done wonders for the career of the judges on AI and the Voice -WIN/WIN. He could tour after AI finishes in May

If this rumour is just that....... a rumour, then I hope Adam doesn't feel the need to debunk it first thing this morning when he wakes up!
Please Adam let it simmer for at least two reasons IMO.....
1. This will create huge buzz in the U.S. while he is away being fabulously awesome with Queen and......
2. The unbelievable wanking shitstorm this will cause in the idol bubble will bring all sorts of amazing LULZ!!!
Yes to your second reason! That could keep us entertained for weeks!
:4OMG: :4OMG: :4OMG: :2tears:

Eber is in London!.... or on his way.... Miles Tougeaux @milestougeaux Best travel karma ever: exit row with 3 empty seats all the way to London. AdvilPM and whisky...engage! Too funny -- I thought of him when they aired the news story this p.m. of the airplane that sat on the tarmac for 19 hours with all on board.

Very nice interview this morning with Sky News Sunrise and great chat with Capital FM! Adam seemed to be in a really good mood during the chat. Maybe it's reuniting with Sauli or having his family and friends join him in London or singing with Queen, but I hope it's something more! My chat stream froze just as he was beginning to answer the AI question and they'd moved on by the time I refreshed. But from what little I heard of Adam's response (or rather the way he responded), I had the impression that it's all more than a rumor and they're truly considering him. And Nigel's response struck me the same way. I'd bet they're getting at least two new judges for next season, maybe even doing a complete overhaul. Adam's viability depends a lot on the other candidate(s) since it has to be the right panel mix. I just read in an article posted today that Katy Perry says she's not interested in the job because of the time commitment (although maybe that's a ploy for more money).
