Awesome news. I will be mid trip so I will most likely miss the broadcast, but I'm sure (hopeful) SOMEONE will capture it and upload it This would be a good gig to have some guests...for those clamoring for a Adam/Bowie duet - THIS is the first gig that I see that would make sense for something like that... Talon did you comment on yesterday's performance and did I miss it? I did at the very end of the thread. I wasn't around for much of yesterday but I did get to sneak in a view and I was very happy. It was a tight spot, and a very good edited down version of the track. I did lament at the missed opportunity of them promoting Love Kills (or even more daring to have tried Let Me In Your Heart Again) but it was better than the usual Rock You/Champions.

Well it's been a great day here at Atop. Adam and Queen were wonderful and the UK audience seemed to appreciate and be in awe of Adam's amazing talent!! Now we wait for more news tomorrow! Shosh is such a tease at times! Wish I could stay up for it but I better go to bed and rest this hurting back of mine. Only for Adam would I have gotten out of bed at all today!!lol Good night. ETA: Talon have you seen today's performance? I did see it. Was super busy the rest of the day so couldn't pop on. That was a great performance. I do think it a bit of a missed opportunity in where they could have done Love Kills to promote the new tracks BUT that is a downer where STL is definitely a mover and shaker. Nice edited version and the band was pretty tight given that they had been off for a month plus!

They really are! The first RT album I got was Happiness? in 1994. His latest is a bit mellow but there are some *GREAT* highlights...

Awwww - thank you Talon... And thank you for all the Queen goodies. Been a fan since my elder brother (a guitarist in a Rock band since the end of the 70s) forced me to listen to his guitar practicing in the room next to mine. So I only had the choice between becoming insane or becoming fan of Rush, Styx, 10cc... and of course Queen. So I decided to become a fan All are good choices...and tell your brother thanks

It's a great interview...sad to hear Roger doesn't feel motivated enough to do some solo gigs after the Queen tour. I've always loved Roger's gigs and would love to hear some Fun On Earth material live. It seems he has little planned after the tour - just to sail away for awhile...he's earned it though so I can't complain. Wish the interviewer had asked whether Roger would work on another solo album. There are some nice comments about Adam and Rog definitely wants to record with Adam...he said the "not sure a bout a whole album" bit again but at the end when talking about future possibilities he mentioned doing a record with Adam so we'll have to see. Given Brian and Roger's more recent lack of prolificness they better start writing ideas now!

I listened to this Roger Taylor's interview and he speaks very appreciatively of Adam, a little more clearly than in the tv bit we just saw (Lorraine show). Unfortunately, I didn't see any player and thus no possibility to fast forward etc. as it's quite long (50 mins or so). Talon might want to listen to it all, you see, they play Roger's solo songs... Adam was mentioned at about 1 min. (most important praise part), very shortly at 24 min. and a little longer at 45 mins. when he talks about the future and possible recording, nothing agreed upon about that yet but he would like to do that. I should think we get audio clips of the Adam parts later. Here's the link, Roger on the phone but the audio was clear. I understood it's a Chicago-based radio station and the broadcast was aired on Nov 25, 2014. lakeshorepublicmedia.org/queens-roger-taylor-he-will-he-will-rock-you-on-midwest-beat-with-tom-lounges/Thanks for this! Listening now!

There Must Be More To Life Than This
Written by: Freddie Mercury
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - lead vocals, keyboard Michael Jackson - lead vocals Brian May - guitar Roger Taylor - drums John Deacon - bass
- This final released version from Queen Forever was patched together by Brian and Roger and then remixed by William Orbit. This version has caused some consternation amongst the Queen fanbase who feel that Orbit's version is not up to snuff. Brian and Roger even seemed a bit put off when debuting it on a UK talk show. They mentioned that there is a final version by Brian and Roger but this Orbit mix is what passed the muster with the Jackson estate and the record company. The problem is that Freddie's voice is muddier than Michaels and the last "duet" verse has Michael burying Freddie in the mix.
- This version is a bit Beatlesesque at times.
- Freddie's take is an alternate take that is not what is on his final Mr. Bad Guy mix.
ALTERNATE VERSION
QUEEN MIX
- The original Queen mix reportedly has more of a line switching duet and is much clearer, per Brian and Roger - Brian has intimated we yet might see their mix at some point.
DEMO
- This is the demo that they had to work with.

A bit off topic but... Band AID 30This is Rog arriving to work on Band AID. The link has the site updating throughout the day during the recording...(in case you're bored) I LOVED the original Band Aid. Why weren't any Queen members on the original recording? Anyone know? A few reasons. Queen was on tour. They were mostly going for new artists. Queen has just seen some flak for going against the embargo and playing in South Africa. Bob probably didn't want to touch them for something involving Africa so soon...Freddie was a bit bothered not to be asked at one point. Of course, Freddie did get a harmony vocal in at the end of Live Aid
