You are right, he probably will have better chances of advancing far into the competition if he can create his own unique persona... I made a mistake of reading the comments on other sites ... and many were just nasty against Durbin ... that it called to mind Season 8 when I first posted in AI related blogs just because I cannot stand the attacks on Adam.... I kind of feel for this kid as he is younger than Adam and may not have his support system... but life is full of surprises.... maybe it has a happy ending for him.... just as Life gave us Adam and his music...a great thing I never anticipated I would get from a reality show.... Awww, you just reminded me why I quit watching Idol. I cared too much. I hurt too much. I was soooo invested and the agony of defeat was too much to take. I felt the same way about the Dallas Cowboys and I've managed to overcome that addiction. There's hope for me yet. Well it does not look like there is a way to get over The Adam Lambert.... although I am getting over the Lakers....I think....

Yes, but Adam can sing. This guy does a lot of screeching! You are absolutely right... Adam's vocal prowess is incomparable.... being compared to Adam will just make lesser talents more inferior...

Yes, have to agree. We like the male perspective. Kind of adds balance. Here's a question for you, when we go into the "shallow end" and post many pics and GIFs of Adam's best "features," would that bother you? Our other men seem to handle it quite well (I think.) How did you discover this board? Tell me "none of my business" if I am asking too many questions. It's fun to get new members. I'll answer and see if it shows up. Should I be like Adam and just get the preliminaries out of the way right away? I will be very happy to swim, which is my specialty, in the shallow end with you if it includes what I assume it does. I don't think my type is as specific as Adam's but I find it very hard to believe that even before his fame he had to go home alone very often. I'm sure I will be learning a lot more about him but from the decent number of videos I've seen and the Glam Nation concert I attended in Melbourne, FL he is one hot guy. This is sounding like more and more fun and since I need a little more shallowness in my life bring it on. Oh yes Applie Pie does waft through the threads from time to time..... and you probably have read that some of us come on board to find a way to put a smile on our faces, especially when RL is not on our side.... Welcome..... and cheers everyone.... it is always exciting to have the chance to broaden one's perspective....

Poor kid did he not watch Season 8 , when Gokey tried to be an Adam and did the scream... that was just a reminder from the Universe.... Why do I feel sorry for this kid ? the funny ears, the sweet eyes, the loving GF, despite his disabilities AND the fact that he needs just a few more years to mature. He's not quite ready, but in time, if he stays focused he will be. so now, he's just a little cringe-worthy on those high notes. I caught a utube of him singing While My Guitar Gently Weeps and it was good. He wasn't trying so hard. You are right, he probably will have better chances of advancing far into the competition if he can create his own unique persona... Watching AI; James Durbin is really trying to be Adam big time. Sang ACIGTC; not even close to Adam. I kept saying this is Adam's song. Let Leave it alone. thanks for the warning. I DVR AI. FF is my friend. James Durbin is NOT Adam. Poor kid did he not watch Season 8 , when Gokey tried to be an Adam and did the scream... that was just a reminder from the Universe.... Why do I feel sorry for this kid ?

I have an unpopular opinion and hope you guys can help. I want you to point out flaws in my thought process because I don't want to feel this way. I am feeling unappreciated as A fan. One of the things that has endeared me to Adam is his realness. He is losing that IMO. It started with the creation of ALF. It offered us nothing new outside paid M&G, just quick money. The latest is Charity:Water. Adam's acknowledgement felt like A kid who's mother made him write A thank you note. Lane's follow up on ALF was "Mom" making A better thank you. He went on "The Talk" and seemed to not even know how much was raised or much about the charity. He was briefed (probably by "Mom") for the later interviews. It would have been nice if Adam had made A gesture to donate. Putting the last $10,000 in when the fans had it to $280,000 on his birthday. I was already feeling this when Adam felt the need to scold his fanbase once again. He then tried to make nice after the temper tantrum, felt like "Mom" again. Then yesterday offering A shirt about Charity:Water that is overpriced with only A small portion going to the charity. It felt like taking advantage of the generous nature of the fans. It would have been nice to say we designed this shirt as A memento, all proceeds go to Charity:Water. Look at the the comments - I am not alone on this one. Adam tweeting pictures with celebrities just made that feeling worse. I feel this is happening because the people in Adam's life that have kept him grounded are all benefiting from Adam's success. Can Monte, Allison, Lee and Scarlett hold the diva behavior in place when they are reaping the rewards of being in Adam's circle? Neil can always bring Adam back to reality, but is halfway around the world. This is my first time around as A fangirl and maybe this is natural. I still feel Adam has the most phenomenal voice I have heard in my lifetime, but unless something changes I won't feel the fan investment I once did. I will buy the album, but not actively request on radio, buy CD's to randomly leave where they can be found or barter with my teens to place Adam's music on facebook. I know I am not alone. I feel the core fanbase eroding. I want to have the passion back. I stepped away from fandom for A few days after the spanking this week. I had a travel day yesterday and spent the whole day driving with Adam's music. Still feeling hurt. The vast majority of us have done nothing but support Adam in every way possible. To lump all fans in with the few "Cray" is as bad as others lumping all "gays" together. Adam was no less talented in 2005 than in 2011. The difference is us! There is probably nothing wrong with your thought process because people who have invested something always have a feeling that they should somehow be special to the recipient. Companies reward hardworking employees with incentives and bonuses, because they expect such returns for their efforts. Even churches reward those who contribute and pray with promises of purgatory or a way to make it to heaven to keep the faith burning. But even in these institutions , some recipients still feel that the distribution is not fair. And I think this will always happen ,as each of those who support Adam, be it fan or family, are individuals. Each with varying thoughts and feelings. No one person can manage to please a diversified nation. I believe that the best Adam can do, is to remain true to himself. If he feels tired and grouchy let it be. If he forgets to sweeten the fans with honey words because his mind takes him to a place where great songs are created, so be it. Before social networking, technology and all these were created, the world never knew what Michelangelo was doing…. The world waited to be surprised with his creation. And when it came … so much joy to behold the art.

He is fortunate to have found his way to you & your husband, and, you in return sound as if he and his sister have enriched your lives. One of our friends home schooled their two children until the last two years of high school. No way could I have done it, I am in awe of those of you who can! Your undertaking of developing a whole new curriculum for your son sounds amazing! His needs are very specific and fortunately you can fulfill them. A win win for all! My son was given to me to develop patience, a virtue I did not possess. My daughter, much the same. Speak to me this time next year, if I'm not in looney tunes city. This whole thing will tax me to the fullest. I will need to sneak in my Adam stanning and trips to his next tour. Aloha and Hoopla, thanks for your kind words. We gotta do what we gotta do and it isn't always an easy road. My husband tells me all the time, these kids owe you big time. I tell him, they will pay it forward. What a beautiful life you have... to be blessed with the chance to make a difference... I know at times we feel that even with all the support around us... we falter... but we are often surprised that from least expected places, we find new strength... you will be constantly renewed ... and you are beautiful and the lives of those around you will be... thank you very very much for this privilege of knowing ...it is inspiring
