My apologies if this review had already been posted. zealnyc.com/queen-adam-lambert-madison-square-garden-july-17-2014/July 18, 2014 It’s been 32 years since Queen last appeared at Madison Square Garden and now former American Idol finalist Adam Lambert has enthusiastically taken the baton indirectly from the mystical and magical Freddie Mercury (first handed to Paul Rodgers of Free and Bad Company fame). Fun fact: Lambert originally met and performed with Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor on the finale of American Idol in 2009 singing We Are the Champions. ........ Really good review, but why didn't they use a pic from the concert? There are plenty great ones out there! This pic is from QAL 2012.
Also, I saw a write up by Broadway World before the concert, did they do one after it? Just curious

I am still reveling in the gloriousness of MSG. My only complaint is that I really wish Adam would keep singing during WTC I know how much he loves hearing the crowd singing, and sure he gets into it, but- I want to hear his glorious voice!
Thanks to all for the great recaps from the concert, and all the pics vids, and streams! We will miss you, butterknife!

OK, this is going to be reaaly stupid, but: can someone please direct me to the first intro and discussion of
FLD
racking my brain as to what this means, F for Freddie, obvious L - Lives forever? no clue what D is for. I get the gist, I think just from discussions I have seen here. but, what exactly is FLD?
sorry to dredge this up. Please and thanks

HI JustKaren. glad you are back! I've been gone for a while too but had to come out of the woodwork for QAL. I am an Outlander fan as well. Can't wait for the mini series on HBO next month. Hi granduchess and Nikki too!
Wow - so many great posts today, peeps are really waxing philosophical! Brought out by Dr. Bri's BD?
Nikki loved your essay. Was Montreal the first extended "need your love" call/response? What concert did he start doing this at?
On Adam as not a front man - I totally disagree! Adam was trained early on in theatre to be a collaborator. When he is writing, he loves collabs. During GNT, and ever since, he always interacts with band mates, and has said several times that he is self-conscientious when being alone on stage. I think he has grown by leaps and bounds in that department, as is evidenced with the staging on this QAL tour. He seems way more comfortable staying in the spotlight. But, he loves interacting with the other members, and as a musician, loves making music with others. I think he is the ultimate front man, consummate showman, performer, and the greatest entertainer of our generation.
I just think it is really wonderful that he has finally found a band worthy of his talent. As one of the reviewers said, Adam was born to sing the Queen songs.
Not that I don't want him to have his own success with his own music, please do not misunderstand me. I want that for him more than anything, and can't wait for A-3.

"Mr. Lambert — singing to replace Queen’s leader, Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991 — is a modest accessory, on and off the stage as he changes into various costumes of leather, lace, studs, animal-skin patterns and shiny fringe."
This NY Times reviewer must have been somewhere else that night. Modest accessory? Really? I think this is my biggest problem with all he said. AFL OWNED that stage, a full 2/3 of all the big O screen time was on him, and come on, there is NOTHING MODEST about Adam Fucking Lambert. Adam was front and center the whole time, well most of it, and this guy is just ridiculous!
