melliemom, that is most definitely a West Texas Jackrabbit! Think Junie left it for me to admire, and for yall to learn about. Although I can't figure out why it is in the Hill Country.
Too bad I missed Junie, I would tell her to take her phone with wi-fi, or her computer (which she probably has) and look for local links. Even in very small East Texas towns with no Dairy Queen, there are bound to be people that have linksys or other wireless net systems in town. When my grandson was here this summer, he would bring his PS3 with him when we went to town, and was always picking up wi-fi systems, and we don't have a Dairy Queen either. I live in the middle of nowhere, and I have wireless via satelite. Also, there are surely local TV stations that will carry the national election news, so she should be OK.
Welcome back Nikki! So glad you decided to come back! YAY!!!!! My son didn't have any of the tactile sensitivities, but he is gifted, and highly creative. He is also highly social, and very empathetic, to the point of having trouble separating his personal emotions from others. At 3, he correctly used the word assanine in describing something I had done, and I couldn't help but burst out laughing. At 5, he repeately attempted to run away from kindergarden because it was so boring. He was not tested for gifted until 7th grade (long story), and scored 99% on the Rave Creativity Test. I could go on and on, but I wanted to thank you for posting the link about Dabrowski and OE, I have never even heard of this before, and I found it to be facinating. If you don't mind, I would love to learn more, if you could pm me some links to further my ed in this area. I am particularly interested in the hightened emotional senses, creativity, and empathy.

Well, how odd is this that I just posted about my bi-sexual nephew on this page yesterday and today had a very unusual experience. A violin student of mine who just moved to town told me a story about cross-dressing for a Halloween Day at school today. He said that now there are people speculating that he is gay, but "I'm not. I'm bi-sexual. My parents don't know." Oh my. Sounds like family will be tough on him. He has made some very good friends and is active in the Gay-Straight Alliance Club. So at least he has some support. He also reported that the mock election at his high school had over 70% support of the gay marriage referendum. I think this is good, and that in general, young people today don't have the homophobia of our (baby boomers) generation. I hope this kid will be OK. If he cross dressed for Halloween, surely his parents noticed, so maybe it won't be hard for him. Also, he is lucky to be at a large school that has a Gay/Straight Alliance club. A lot of smaller schools don't have this kind of thing, and it can still be very hard. Also, like I said in my earlier post, lots of kids and families grew up with Will & Grace, which was a funny and positive show, and I think it helped to shift the perception that people had. Now, we have had Brothers and Sisters for several years, and many other shows are incorporating gay couples, PLL episode that Adam was on has a lesbian couple. It almost seems like the new normal (isn't there a new sitcom out called that?) to include gay couples in the mix of characters on TV shows, so there are a lot more examples out there to be seen, to be accepted, and to change the way people view gay people. It all helps to eradicate the ignorance and predjudice. I think we are getting there as a society, slowly but surely.

You guys are so funny tonight -- this thread has been so entertaining! I have seen the mysterious picture (which I scrolled through 8 hours of twitter to find, sadly) and he is fully clothed! Honestly--I am SO distressed by this!!! LOLOL. Happy week-end to everyone! I got mine, thanks Betty. Gotta admit he is still smokin hot! I don't really see what the big deal was, this pic is obviously from a photoshoot that he did, so why is it so secret? Should be tomorrow's banner, IMO. Also read earlier that some of the pearl clutchers were scolding him for setting a bad example by being so smoking hot. WHUT?

Great job Junie, you got talent! And thanks for the Barney Miller episode. I had totally forgotten that show, it was a good one, and very funny!
My son that is gay (he is actually bisexual, but prefers and is more attracted to boys) and I used to watch Will and Grace all the time. It gave him a good frame of reference, and we enjoyed the show. At the time, when he was a teenager, he was dating both girls and boys. We live in a very small community, and there were not many choices. I am sorry to admit that at that time in his life, I didn't really know how to talk about it, so I just ignored the whole issue. Actually, following Adam has helped me quite a bit in finding out about the LGBT community and their issues. What I have learned has also helped me in relating to my son, and now we can talk about anything. It is good. Adam reminds me so much of my boy, so Thanks Adam!!!

It seems to me that especially Asia but also South Africa and to some extent OC/NZ (and Europe probably too when the time comes) are still in the FYE era. Those songs are played and known to the public - and used as a reference in promoting the concerts. The promoters everywhere tend to back on previous achievements which have a wider-reaching appeal and the casual listeners' recognition - fans know about recent developments and buy tickets anyway. Unfortunately, it might mislead some casual listeners a bit but it is not important to the organisers who just want to sell tickets. Personally, I don't think up-to-date info would do any harm, quite the contrary, but I can understand them concentrating on the business side as they see fit. At least it looks like they got some new info from Adam's side in Bali judging by the picture they use - it's their decision how to use it. good points, thanks belle

sure there will be vids. Also, if Adam performs it will be ripped. The parade will be televised. eta: The article doesn't talk about performances, "Yuletide Greetings" from stars.

I haven't really said how much I love todays banner photo, and Adam's freckles.
And, does this mean Adam will be at this Santa Claus Parade? Nov. 18th, this is right after South Africa shows. Adam loves Canada, hope he gets to stay awhile and play.
Lucky Cunnuks!
