Thank you Betty for the yummy birthday cakes. The strawberry theme made me forget the cold winter day and reminded me that warmer weather will eventually find its way to Wisconsin. Additionally, thank you franki13, kagmel, and cheriemelissa (hi to you too, old friend) for the birthday well wishes. I seldom post but I am here EVERY SINGLE DAY and I read the entire thread with NO scrolling!!! I have so enjoyed the hours and hours I have spent with you all and I will be here following Adam as long as I am physically and mentally able to do so. My DH jokingly asked me how long I intend to keep up this "hobby" of mine and I told him, "Until someone pries this laptop from my cold, dead fingers!!!"I am so thrilled that at my age I can still be fascinated, mesmerized, and moved by an artist and by all of you posters as well. I am ready for the next leg of our journey! Yep.....that about sums it up for me too!

The band did have issues during the TP era. I don't know if it was Brian as music director or simply that they never figured out how to make that music work live, but it was noticeable drop in quality from GNT. For me personally, his mindless chatter during the songs had no place or purpose. That should have been stopped. Collab. with Taylor, I could get behind that. Arguably the most popular and prolific female in pop music today, well respected, huge fan base, the current it girl. It is a collab. not a duet, the vocal abilities don't need to match nor do styles or even genre. In fact the contrasts are what make a collaboration interesting. His exposure in a collab like that could be huge. Would he want to do such a collab? who knows. At some of the 2012-2013 shows the band was excellent like San Diego State Fair and Paso Robles. Some show the band were not as excellent like Pittsburgh Pride. That would argue for something other than "they never figured out how to make the music work live." I think things started to get a bit off track when Brian and Tommy Joe started to work on their side project Brian's album (April 2013 on), and Brian began to focus more on his solo career. Tommy Joe seemed to stay pretty much the same the whole time. In any case, I did not like all the talking on stage. (Chatter is a good word.) And I did not think much of Brian London's voice on back up, and he often was late on his cues, and sometimes he was too loud -- like the Jimmy Kimmel Show 2012 performance of "Broken English". By April 2013, there were very few concerts and a long time between them. And then there was very little practice as a full band before some of the one offs since the drummer lived on the other side of the USA. Sometimes they only practiced as a full ban the day before the concert in the concert city. This may have been more economical that flying the drummer out to LA for a few days of full band practice before these concerts, but it did not work well. I think Adam may have also had other commitments before some of the one offs that limited full band practice (that is, including Adam and all 4 band members).

And that would explain why they weren't as tight as the band was for GNT. But many of the 2013 shows were great and the band were great -- Costa Mesa and Biloxi are two of my favorite Adam concerts ever. (I did not go to Paso Robles but I think that may have been the best show of 2013.) My last comment on bands -- I went to find my favorite concert band intro -- that would be St. Agathe de Feux July 29. 2011 -- and played the band intro. It is the most fun band intro ever!! It is the one with the "fairy" (moth) and Adam talking about fan fiction -- and this is the concert were NO ONE was on keyboard!! youtu.be/sOHz8h1n4bM?list=PL2044752D8295E75DAnd the one when he wore his fox tail...and was pretty wild with the mike! youtu.be/EmunUD9D92A?list=PL2044752D8295E75DThis concert was outside and there are no good audio recordings but he was vocally insane that night. And just generally insane/good.

Who cares if TAylor can sing or not. I don't think thats really important as far as collabs go. I don't think it matters he outsings her. I think exposing Adam to a larger fanbase, can only help. What's the big deal I mean it could be fun, seeing them on talk shows e.t.c. I know Adam is in a league of his own, and he is too good to collab with anyone. But Taylors an excellent song writer, she could even write a song and Adam sing it, but whatever thats just me.

(I did not go to Paso Robles but I think that may have been the best show of 2013.) ... Pittsburg was the first one off concert 3 months after the end of the WAG tour. It was in the Eastern USA, and I think this was one of the events where they rented space in Pittsburg to practiced the day before the event. Then San Diego was 2 weeks after Pittsburg, AT&T Live Proud was the day after San Diego, and Paso Robles was 2 weeks after San Diego. So, not enough practice as a full band before Pittsburg. Then Rick flys out to LA before San Diego and they get several days of band practice in before San Diego and then got progressively better at each concert. The next concert was at the Fontainebleau in Miami Thanksgiving weekend, 4 months after Paso Robles. As I recall, this was also one where they only practiced in the concert city the day before the event. I think the consensus was that it was the concert with the most band problems. And as I recall, Rick was out in LA for band practice some time in mid-December. And then the Biloxi and WinStar concerts after Christmas were really good. I see a pattern here!

I think it is far more likely that Adam would collab with GaGa, Katy Perry, or Demi Lovato than with Taylor Swift. I don't think Adam is even on Taylor's radar while the others know and love Adam. And I don't think it benefits Taylor if she collabs with Adam, at this point in time, so why would she? That may change if TOH is really big.

This concert was 2 months after the concert at the Russian Maxidrom rock festival. For these 2 concerts, they put more of a rock twist on the songs. Monte was bragging about how he made the songs have more of a rock flavor for these concerts in some interview he did later. And St. Agathe is one concert that I really wish I had gone to!!!

The greatness of St. Agathe en Feux had absolutely nothing to do with Monte IMHO -- it was all about Adam and an amazing audience and an incredible location and the rain and fireworks. Oh, and Adam was so wild that night. Also, Sauli was there. *** On the 2013 concerts -- I was at all of them except AT&T Live Proud and Paso Robles. Pittsburgh Pride was off in many ways, including Brian "forgot" to play a couple of things and missed a backing track cue. The soundcheck was fine so I don't this this was lack of rehearsal. I think it might have been because they took the stage well over an hour late and at least 2 members of the band were no longer sober. BeauLive (Miami Beach) I do not recall any band issues there but the sound was distorted for the people near the stage. They moved this one indoors a few hours before the show and had to do a second soundcheck. The intimate private concert on the oceanfront ended up being in the big club with a 10:00PM strict end time because this is the #1 nightclub in the world and they had to get us out. Overall, I think only someone who had paid a lot of attention to many, many Adam concerts would have noticed anything as subtle as we are discussing.
