Q3, excellent recap! I think your analysis is right on! Especially about kids that young not even knowing WWFM! I imagine the age demographic of the Jingle Balls is about the same?! I have been thinking about this too and I decided that Adam is a grown-ass 33 year old man and should perform like one. His appeal should not be in the tween/teen demographic even though they are the most prolific on social media. If they happen to see him and tweet/retweet/instagram/follow/like/heart him, fine. But, he is not a 17 year old WGWG that tweens should be swooning over. Adam is older as he breaks into the pop genre, his material is mature and sophisticated, as it should be. If he were to try for the tween/teen demo, it could almost feel skeezy like Robin Thicke. So, I am not going give much attention to the tweet/retweet/instagram/follow/like/heart pattern for Adam among young people. Certainly they could elevate his visibility and increase his social media stats, but they are not necessarily a fit with his music. I am not going to give a rat's ass if mother-fucker shows up at any time of the day in his performances. I want him to joke about Christmas trees in his pants and know that his audience will appreciate it. I want to see him in any fashion clothing that he wants to put on his body (or even hair). I am so happy that he felt comfortable enough to do that China semi-naked photo, it is far sexier and more suggestive than six-pack abs with the underwear band showing. I want him to be able to write any lyric to any song on a piece of paper. I will be happy for him if he gets a great co-headlining or even opening gig that substantially increases his fanbase. I hope he gets to do some festivals, too. I hope he gets to do the big Jingle-balls next year. Mostly I hope he gets another single or two with great videos and that Era 4 is as much of a success as Era 3 has been so far. Also, I want TOH tour in the US/Canada. I love your thoughts on this. I can let myself think at times "why did he do or say or wear that... at this time"...but, you're right...ultimately I want for Adam what he wants for himself. I want him to be HAPPY, have FUN, enjoy himself-his life-his career, dress as HE likes, wear his hair as HE likes, make mistakes, learn from them, live his life the best he can, and continue to be the wonderful, amazing, beautiful person and singer he is. Can't wait for his concert tomorrow night! We're sooooo fortunate to be able to watch and listen from afar. I sure do appreciated every single person that brings us streams, videos, tweets, etc., and this forum...so I can be in on the excitement of Adam's world.

speaking of giving some love, how is it a fanbase that can afford to travel all over the world for multiple shows cannot raise $10,000 for clean water? $4200 in 5 days, seriously this is sad. my.charitywater.org/lambert/adamThanks for the reminder. I give instead of sending cards. This charity is the best.

LindaG23 - everything you said!! √ I am not going to give a rat's ass if mother-fucker shows up at any time of the day in his performances. √ I want him to joke about Christmas trees in his pants and know that his audience will understand. √ I want to see him in any fashion clothing that he wants to put on his body (or even hair). √ I am so happy that he felt comfortable enough to do that China semi-naked photo (Oh, am I happy – shallow – yes) √ I want him to be able to write any lyric to any song on a piece of paper. √ Mostly I hope he gets another single or two with great videos and that Era 4 is as much of a success as Era 3 has been so far √ I want TOH tour in the US/Canada. Playing devil's advocate here - but if Adam agrees to play a gig that he knows will have lots of pre-teens and younger, than I think he should probably tailor his jokes and remarks to fit that audience. Prancing around with a balloon on his crotch - maybe not so appropriate for this kid-filled audience - nor ""mother-fucker" either. just sayin' That is a good point. It is good to be mindful of your audience and not be blatantly disrespectful of audience, culture, etc. while maintaining your own integrity as a performer. Adam is nearly 34 years old, an intelligent man, but there are always lessons to be learned no matter how old you get. He has a microscope on his nearly every move, outfit, word, etc. At 34...or any age for that matter, I would not have passed the "appropriateness" or "perfect" test at every moment of my life. He's human. I think he's handled everything in his life (fame, performances, career, interviews, etc) exceptionally well. No one is 100% perfect 100% of the time. But he's pretty wonderful.

I know I am violating forum rules to talk about another singer rather than Adam. And to talk disparagingly, too. I should just mod myself. But...... I can't help it! I just watched Justin Bieber perform his latest single on the finale of The Voice. It is appallingly bad music. Justin starts out at the piano, playing the same three chords over and over and over and over and over and over and over. The melody line that goes with it goes nowhere, does nothing, and basically repeats combinations of the same six notes endlessly. I actually broke out laughing at one point because it reminded me of one of my nephews when they were little, playing the chord progression for "Heart and Soul" - you know, that piano duet that everyone learns how to play along with chopsticks. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy76TJsaro8Except, listening to "Heart and Soul", I realize it has FOUR chords repeated endlessly, whereas "Sorry" only has THREE repeated endlessly. And "Sorry" has a smaller, less creative melody range than the melody line of "Heart and Soul". It sounds like something any eight year old could cobble together if shown where to put his fingers on the piano keys for three chords, and told to invent a melody to go along with them. Un-fuckin-believeable! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry4cEALzIVcETA: I guess I better qualify this by saying it is all "In My Opinion" and YMMV.

Good thing Paula didn't make the comment here or would have gotten a backlash Gurl! ya got spunk! :D The Light has been a favorite around here from the get go and reggae IIHY has been a very mixed bag. I don't quite understand where everything went so haywire either. Hang in there, I for one like to hear younger voices and alternative perspectives on things.

I just watched Justin Bieber perform his latest single on the finale of The Voice. It is appallingly bad music. Funny story - I was listening to the TV in the background tonight, and I heard an announcement about The Voice's finale. They said "Justin Bieber" (with pride, it was on the Canadian CTV News after all) and my first thought was "But, the show is called The Voice, what is he doing there?". Then I felt bad because I have barely listened to him and should not draw conclusions without enough knowledge... So I had to check out your YouTube post. Now I don't feel guilty anymore

Now I don't feel guilty anymore His recorded music is quite good this cycle, his live performances are pretty rough at best. I think most of his shows are lip synced dance oriented entertainment affairs, like many of that tier. It is a different world from what we follow.
