What I do when I post an unpopular view like I did last week after the Grammys when I said that Adam wasn't the greatest at the EMAs w/Queen and he tried to hard (ie something very easy to do at award shows like many of us thought Gaga did), is walk away for a couple of hours. Then when people disagree with me, as many did, I don't feel the need to argue my point to the naysaysers because by that time there are also a few "yeah that"s in the mix too. Part of opinion flinging is seeing what sticks and if noone ever flings what they think might be an unpopular opinion then they'll never see if there are some other free thinkers out there too. Thanks, Jablea. I can handle differences of opinions but some people try to belittle you, make you feel stupid for having the opinion that you do, chide you, and even tell you to shut up, which I just don't think is cool. Oddly enough I looked back at the thread and before I expressed my opinion, someone prominent on the site had the exact same opinion, but was not attacked at all. I also believe that had my unpopular opinion had been about Adam instead of another artist, I think it would have been a different story. I think I said this a year or so back on some other subject and in conjunction with who knows who poster. Speaking for myself, if I reply to someone it is usually just the subject matter and it has absolutely nothing to do with the poster. Most of the time I don't know who I replied to until/if they reply to me. I'm trying to make a bit more of a habit of scrolling back up to see who it was but even then I get confused about who I think is usually on track and who tends to post a bit more irrationally (in my opinion only lol) Anyway I'm always quoting people in my replys. Why? Because I'm shit ass lazy. If I didn't quote I'd actually have to explain what I'm talking about before I add my two cents. I'm usually not that long winded. Besides since I look at the board via the "most recent posts" option there is not an easy reply button. Quote is right there but to reply I have to click on the thread header (making sure I select the right date since that can be problamatic at this time of night because there are often two threads going and even more sometimes if the number thread is active of any of the this week's tweets, or this weeks pics, or ..... well you get the picture. It's far too much for me to think about so I just hit quote. And if more than one person is saying something that I decide I want to say something about too, it's just the luck of the draw which person I quote. It might be because the person that person quoted is really where my interest lies but I'm trying to keep the conversation in order (and I might be too lazy to find just the single quote or heaven forbid go into BBCode and erase <quote> marks etc) . I often try and go back to where I think the conversation started, but remember since I read Most Recent Posts then I'm reading the thread backwards. I hit the quote button and open up a new window and then keep reading before going back and actually posting. That some sometimes limits my off the cuff remarks but not always. So a very long post which is simply to say to try and not take replies, quotes, etc personally, most of the time they aren't meant that way.

Wasn't that ema night one of the biggest here...evah?...I remember it so fondly...one of those nights we are all just drunk with the wonder that became QAL in all its fabulous fantasticallity!!! Oh I agree. Waited with bated breath. Wow the lighting, he's all in dark. Boom! do you know who you are listening to. Yes, take a bow with painted butterflies. Oh yes, this song that Freddie never got to sing. What's the audience thinking? When is Gaga going to come in? He's still singing. Woah, backwards down the runway. Still no Gaga. Big boom camera. He did it, he did the whole thing all by himself, well with Brian and Roger yes but ALL By Himself! So yes, I loved it and I still watch it occasionally. What a great beginning. But. In the context of Gaga's Grammy performance I think there are some comparisons to be made and I think it's probably true of many artists who prepare for that one spectacular spectacle, those 3-5 minutes of that's all you get, one shot televised awards performance. It was nice to hear last week that at least one Atopper became a glambert because of the EMAs I can only assume that new little monster fans may have been created by Gaga's performance also. btw- thought you made some excellent points this morning on the #freekeisha topic

So sorry for your loss!! If you feel like talking about it, I'd love to know your favorite memory of your fur baby. Thanks everyone for all of the kind words. So many memories it's hard to pin it down to just one. We resuced her and she had a rough start in life - but she was so happy and loving. 5.5 years ago I was very sick and I was in and out of the hospital and off work for a couple of months. My Bella, or Bean as we lovingly called her, was by my side the entire time. One trait of hers is that she always had to have a toy to greet you at the door with. She would hear you come in and run around the house until she had a toy with her to bring to come and greet you. She's left a very big hole in my heart. Oh, that's so sweet. My baby (cat) just walked in our conservatory doors one day and sat down beside me as I was working on the compy. That was it, as afar as she was concerned we were 'hers'. She's been with us ever since, and stays by my side and sleeps on me when I'm ever ill in bed...I just adore her now. Splinters in the heart when they leave...

Yes they were Nov 6th 2011......... that thread is 141 pages of nail biting waiting, freaking the fuck out when first seeing his lone silhouette...... and then squeeing from every corner of the fandom. It was absolutely epic. atop.proboards.com/thread/549/ema-queen-takeover-special-guestDecember 9th doesn't stand out as anything earth shattering that I can think of.
