I don't think it's entitlement at all--it's expectation. Concerts are expected to be longer. It doesn't matter if other people around the globe don't get to see him. If a person has bought tickets for a concert, they normally would expect more time. (I say this as a person who will not be attending a concert.) It is odd to cut so many songs. I agree Holtz...it is not entitlement to expect the same show others have had...given it is titled the same, supporting the same album ..even listed on the same t-shirt. It is really unfair to call fans entitled in this situation. I am one of those fans whose country is regularly shunned, so I spend far more than I can afford to see a show. To claim that seeing Adam live is a privilege is just nonsense...we are fans and care, yes...and he claims to appreciate us. But when we buy tickets, we are buying them as audience...we get no 'breaks' because we are fans therefore there is no entitlement involved when one is an audience member. That term "entitlement" gets thrown around all too much here and it is often quite unnecessary and hurtful...and serves no useful use that I can see. Being a fan is not some zero sum game. tisi I totally agree too! When I am traveling thousands of miles and spending thousands of dollars to go to shows, I want to know what I am getting. I would not mind some shows being shorter than others if I knew before buying tickets that those shows were going to be shorter. Then I could decide which shows to spend my money on. I guess next round we could try calling the venues before tickets go on sale and asking questions, but I doubt that anyone we could actually talk to would know anything.

Dancy, I also have two tickets to sell for the concert in Berlin! I already posted it in the "TOHT-Europe, extra tickets"-thread in the members only section! BTW, for everyone who also attends a concert in Europe, I also posted in some other concert-threads there! (Amsterdam, Hamburg, Vienna, Cologne!) I added your tickets for sale to the list above. If you want me to add more information about the tickets, please send me a PM with that information.

There are some new tweets from Shoshanna but I don't know how to copy them here. But she says it's a deal with each venue. That doesn't make sense to me. It's his show Each show has a contract which specifies how long the artist will perform or how many songs the artist will perform. I suspected that was the case last night and I am glad Soshanna confirmed that is what is going on. ETA I should have read the thread before I posted. Same thing said a number of times above.

Happy Birthday sangria and trespassing! Hmmmm - 60 min show because it's written down in a contract? Strange for a concert, isn't it? All the big name concerts I've been to have lasted MUCH longer than that... Actually Adam,s set in Charlotte was 1 hour 22 minutes. The contract is probably for a number of songs and minimin time. The contracts for theater and club venue s in NA are different than larger venues. ETA For comparison, when I saw Adele she performed 16 songs, Sam Smith also performed 16 songs. I did not see Nick Jonas but according to Set list.com he performed 15 songs on his US solo tour.

I was at the show in Charlotte and it was great I'm thinking that streaming and videoing should no longer be allowed. The fury by a few over the set list and time just ruined what I considered a wonderful performance. Folks leaving loved the show. Never in my life have I judged a show by its length or how many songs were sung a great performance was all I cared about. I think I need to take a break from adamtopia. It has become a downer for me

To answer some of the questions, for me, it's not about the exact songs. I have preferences and I chat here about what songs I'd like to hear in concert but I don't have a desire to determine the set list. It's about the fact that he has cut back so much on the time he spends with his audience and the way that makes me feel.
The other question: what's a reasonable trade? I suppose for everyone the answer would be different. I bought the ticket assuming I had an accurate idea of the amount of time he'd be performing. I might not have paid the same price if I knew that he was performing for a shorter amount of time. (Actually, I probably would have, but it would have been one of those exceptions I make for Adam and only because I'm only seeing one show. But my expectations would have been different from the outset.)
Maybe I really have been "lucky" in all my previous concertgoing experiences because I can honestly say that, except for Adam, I've never had to give a thought to how long a show would be. Other than his concerts, I think the shortest headlining show I've ever seen has clocked in at about an hour and 25 minutes.
Also, the fact that there's audio and video available from the concerts has no bearing on my reaction. We'd still get a report from concertgoers about the length of the show and the number of songs cut. And I'd still be disappointed and confused about why it was happening.
I don't agree that my post was "belittling"(?) Adam, but, yes, I have definite opinions about the changes he's making and I don't think there's anything wrong with expressing those opinions. Most of my post stemmed from irritation at Shoshanna's tweet. I also don't agree that Shoshanna wouldn't lie. I think that Shoshanna has shaded the truth several times before in her role as PR in order to smooth things over.
Someone mentioned Adele. According to a recent review I read about her latest tour, she "played 18 songs over two hours."
