Realized I should add I know Adam knows people livestream, no "shade" on the people. I am just wondering if it MIGHT be time for Adam's TEAM to rethink it. I don't know, tho - it's a question I have (basically, why should his, anyone's, shows "be free" for home viewing?)

Another tweet from Shoshanna: Djanka Karr @djankakarr @shoshannastone @ritea007 does that mean, they dictate setlist? it's sooooo strange???? shoshanna stone @shoshannastone @djankakarr @ritea007 no, they ask for a set length. Adam decides set list and he likes to change it up What I don't understand is why Shoshanna doesn't say this immediately, this last tweet makes it all clear. Why tweetint around it for several tweets? It's been often like this: tweeting around the subject the people want to know and she is hinting on without saying it and after several twets finally says it. Come one: spit it out the first time

So many of Bridgey's astute observations about other concert styles and their "time stretchers" points to me that his energy is so much a part of his concert experiences, that losing that energy with these "rest" periods would stall his show. I think a simple solution would be to do the Runnin medley OR the Shady medley at each concert. Don't get me wrong, I hope to see both in my one concert in Nashville this week, but I think if fans got at least one of the two medleys the show would be more satisfying for the time-sensitive fans. YMMV Read more: adamtopia.com/thread/3628/16-toh-tour-fillmore-charlotte?page=28&scrollTo=727804#ixzz42DrnOkpU I just brought this comment to the live thread after posting on the dead one, because my ideas are SO important! Yes this is sarcasm. Regarding the "time stretchers," I remember during the Asia/Australia shows, some people here were complaining about the middle part maybe being a little too long with slow songs (not many complaints), and the long IIHY reggae version with the intros being a "buzzkill." So there's that. Not everyone is going to be happy with everything, that's for sure! ETA: I'm pretty sure that if I went to an Adele show, I'd be dozing off after 45 minutes. With my fingers in my ears.

I don't know, tho - it's a question I have (basically, why should his, anyone's, shows "be free" for home viewing?) Fan videos and live streams are one of the main ways that artist reach new fans and build engagement with existing fans. Adam knows this. His team knows this. >> Adam had not played Charlotte NC for 6 years. The only way fans kept up with him was because of online media. No online media, I doubt the concert would have been packed -- and it was packed. And there is a huge difference between the live concert experience and the audio stream or even a great video stream. Live is 3D, the sound has different dimensions, and there is an audience. Plus -- the dancing, production, lighting are so much better live. *** The setlists would be available with or without the livestreams.

Mea culpa. Mea maximum culpa. I am sometimes WAAAAY too obsessed with Adam Lambert. With his videos, interviews, appearances, tweets, paparazzi pics, rumors, cookies (I'm a diabetic but bought Oreos to support Adam), and on and on. I think I might literally be addicted to him. And like most addicts, in seven years of following Adam, I think my addiction requires more and more and more to reach that "original high." I couldn't sleep last night. Was up at 3:30 in the morning angsting about why he cut certain songs from the set, about how long the set would be that I would hear, whether I would be able to hear him sing my favorites. Plus how the fandom was reacting to all of it. Instead of getting a good 8 hours of sleep in preparation for my wonderful, exciting, upcoming concert experience, I had insomnia and a sour stomach. That is absurd! In one more day I am going to hear that one in a billion voice LIVE, IN THE SAME ROOM I AM IN. I am going to have the rare privilege of experiencing a voice that touches me more deeply than any I have ever heard my entire life. I will be able to hear it, and see this amazing performer for an hour at least. I am going to be bathed in that voice, showered with it. Surrounded by it. Lifted up by it. And here I am, glued to ATop and typing this while ignoring my wonderful puppies who are pleading for my attention, and for their breakfast. Ignoring one of the biggest joys of my life while worrying about a concert that will surely be another of the joys in my life. Get it together, Cassie! Focus on the joy! have taken to scrolling over much of the discussions about concert length. My concert is in Clearwater in one week and I refuse to let it be tarnished by all the angst over something I have no control over. Would I love a long concert??? Sure, I'd love 2hrs +! Is it FAIR to get a shorter set??? As my parents used to say, 'Nothing is fair in this world! Live with it!' Cant wait to have the night of my life!

Q3...Thanks so much for streaming for us...You did good! I think that 1 hr 23 minutes musta included some of the intro....lol. Anyway, glad you got a great/sexy show.
I like Shosh, but she does put out "vague" and "BS" at times. ( the comment about the 90 minute shows being the exception/special is BS) But that's her job, and for the most part I think she does it well. Adam seems pleased with her.
My question...if the "length" of the show is determined by each venue, according to Shosh, and the reason behind the short set list...which she implied is the baseline/normal set list....why would the venue care how many songs he did...as opposed to the overall time for the entire show, including the opening act which Adam wants to help extend the showtime. Seems the venue would only be concerned about how much total time is used in their venue. That 45 minute time break between Alex and Adam....seems to me could be cut to 30 minutes, and each show could be more "uniform" in length...if indeed, length is actually the inhibitor of his set list. May be a factor, but not sure I totally buy it.
Having said all that and being skeptical for the "whys"....The Show that he does put on is excellent in presentation and vocals with non-stop energy, and that's the most important thing to me.

Surely it's the inconsistency that has people confused, and understandably so IMO, as we're not talking just a song or two difference between shows, rather huge chunks missing. As I understand it, the GNT set was pretty similar throughout and in my limited experience of touring set lists, I believe it's usual for an artist to play around the same number of songs each night. Is it possible that what Shosh and Q3 say about different contracts for different venues is correct but some venues are requiring a longer show as opposed to setting a time limit? In other words, Adam and team said they'd do 70 minutes (or whatever the shorter shows are) similar to GNT and some venues accepted this while others said "no, we want you to play closer to 90 minutes". This would explain Shosh's comment about getting more for the same price. It's the only explanation that makes sense because other artists play longer shows in the same theatres so no way will they have set a 70 minute limit on Adam, HE will have been the one setting the limit, not the other way round. I'm thinking the reasons for this are as previously discussed, high-energy show with no breaks for him and the need to conserve his voice for his many commitments in the months ahead. As to why he did a longer set everywhere in Oceania - I don't have a theory for that. Anyway, however many minutes he does in Europe, I'm excited for my very first shows next month. The contracts are negotiated with many terms -- artist guarantees and compensation can be related to how long the artist performs + sales + other factors. Top venues can make more demands than less attractive venues. Etc. Etc. There are a lot of moving parts. I take Shosh's tweets as exactly what she said, there are different contract terms with different venues and some venues got a longer show commitment. *** I think the show is AMAZING and my favorite of the 3 shows I saw was last nights concert, not the longer show from DC. I expect that most fans will be thrilled with the show.

I thought of you during the Charlotte show. It was that kind of show. Yes, my 1 hour 23 minutes was from the start of Adam's music until he left the stage after the encore. But not sure how else to time it. Counting singing minutes is not right because he has some dancing, no singing parts. And Adam Ross' guitar solo is a show highlight. And Adam's dancing and the choreography in this show is great.

I don't know anything but maybe Adam's people say something like "We have a 90-minute show, and a 75-minute show," and the amount of money or percentage Adam gets from the venue depends on the length of the show? The venue then decides which one they want. And it wouldn't make any difference if the break between Alex and Adam were 15 minutes or an hour, Adam would still perform for that length of time. As for what songs/medleys are cut or added (whichever way you want to look at it), people would probably complain that their favorite was cut. The Runnin' medley is great, but there seem to be a lot of Lucy fans! TISI is a core fan favorite, but then maybe the middle "slow" section is too long and slow for some people. Adam can't win.

Very sad situation, so much anger and negativity just because a short set in a concert, life is so short, I will enjoy whatever I get, it is not that deep after all. Well said. I live in Canada. I am not getting a show.
