I was surprised to learn that he pays for the clothes he purchases from at least two of the designers he wears regularly and gives shoutouts on IG and Twitter and so on. I am sure he is given some items -- but seems he really does shop. It is something that puzzles me a bit but my GUESS is that he wants the freedom to wear what he wants to wear or may be he enjoys shopping? I think he just believes in supporting other artists! He is all about lifting up others. Seems like that is part of it. He is so adept in the use of fashion as a personal branding element -- I just feel like it also extends to a core part of his personal definition/expression.

I hope so too. But it'll be a cover, so as far as publicity goes it's kinda meh imo...yup, that was a technical term :D Better than him singing wwfm again. I hope it's at least a cover we haven't heard. Please let it be Sweet Child o' Mine Oh my goodness---I would absolutely die if I heard him sing SWEET CHILD o'MINE----the song I've always said I would most love to hear him sing !!!!

Gee, I always thought a music artist COULD stop a political candidate from using their music. I thought a number of them have done it in the past. Maybe those candidates stopped using a song as a courtesy to the artist, not because they had to under the law. Hmm. We'll see if Brian May responds to this. Queen, Rolling Stones, most major artists recordings are available for "blanket use." So they only things they can stop an advertisement which requires a separate license. Here is an explanation and a bit of history: www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2016/05/05/the-rolling-stones-demand-HeWhoCannot amed-stop-using-its-music-at-rallies-but-can-the-band-actually-stop-him/ So he can play it at a live event such as the convention just as any artist during a live gig can do a cover of it. But if they can't use it in an advertisement then hopefully we won't see it in any political commercials. Save

...and please NOT Mad World.... OMG! I hadn't thought of that. Ugh. I'll bet it is I doubt very much it would be mad world. Based on the premise of the show the song would have nothing to do with the artist, it's a famous song from that time period. If I remember right they thought on Idol that not a lot of people would know Mad World. Save

I think he just believes in supporting other artists! He is all about lifting up others. Seems like that is part of it. He is so adept in the use of fashion as a personal branding element -- I just feel like it also extends to a core part of his personal definition/expression. I'm going with integrity. Sure he could be a spoiled brat and be on the take, something which many people would consider legitimate or fair trade with publicity exchanged for an item. But then not only does it turn into work but he knows what it's like when people just use your song and tell you, but you'll sell more to other people because of the publicity. He's also got struggling artists as friends should he look at how big the company is before deciding if he can take gifts. And I think there is the legitmacy angle too. If he endorses something is it because they gave him gifts or because he really likes the product. He might view it all as a tip such as coming out of the bar last night he made sure to retweet a pic that had the name of the place in it. That's a tip, a thank you, I had a good time. He's an Amazon reviewer who didn't write a review because they got a free sample. He writes the reviews because he actually uses it and likes it. Save
