I keep wondering why we think there is a second dance track. We had Steve Aoki "Can't Go Home" and Tribual "Broken." Am I missing something?

I was dumbfounded by that number when I heard it! Just goes to show that the Voice isn't producing much in the way of stars, but they do have some really good singers, much better than Idol for the most part. It is strange that none of them have really caught on. Although, they were much later to the game than Idol and nobody from Idol's later years has become popular either. What you need to do is be a judge on the Voice, as they really seem to benefit from the constant exposure.
But I still do think Tony Bennett has greatly helped Gaga. She is acting and you hear her name more and she is doing the Super Bowl Halftime show, right? The duets with Tony introduced her to a different group of folks and that is always to an artist's benefit. They can't stay pop stars forever. I agree that there might be change coming. The more folks you can appeal to, the more your chances are to stay in the business. Longevity is what it is all about. I know Adam doesn't think much of Christmas songs, but I am still holding out for O Holy Night - he just might grow into a one time performance like that!! So many of the biggest stars show up on Holiday Specials and a girl can always hope for that or Ave Maria!!! It is that time of the season!

TY, Jablea. ❤️ My comment was directed at the conversation theme. There were 5-6 people in that convo, I didn't single out or even quote anyone.

The music industry has changed from the expected path. Like it or not, top 40 radio is only going to play the 20 somethings. Gaga is not there. P!nk is a little there. Katy Perry is not going to be there. I believe these artists will move to marketing to streaming. I can't put my finger on it, but I see Adam moving from pure pop to something more mature. A Change is Gonna Come. I hope I have to eat my words but have you Really listened to top 40 radio? I spent the summer with my granddaughters and their friends ages 10-14 and that's what top 40 caters to. They listen to the young, "dreamy" kids with repetitive lyrics that they can sing along to and it is the same songs over and over. They also tend to like sad, lovesick music. Typical pre-teen stuff. Isaiah is actually the perfect age for those girls. You really don't hear a lot of quality vocals (and don't even get me started on Adele). I will admit however, that my girls love Welcome to the Show (and we are back to repetitive lyrics again) but at least they know Adam Lambert. A couple of thoughts: I think Adam's music is ahead of it's time. I've noticed that FYE and Trespassing seem to be fitting into today's music, now. I've noticed that his numbers keep going up on the early music. It's like they have a life of their own and never get old, unlike a lot of artists. Personally, a number 1 single isn't what I'm focusing on...I'm thinking concerts, specials, movies, TV and someday I hope, Broadway. That beautiful voice really shines live, with an audience. Okay...'m rambling but ...

After several hours of that, I was ready to pull my hair out! Song after song after song by some female with a 14-yr-old little girl voice singing interchangeable numbers with similar beats, lyrics and chords. Interspersed were a few pop boys: lite, upbeat melodies with totally forgettable lyrics. NOTHING musically complex or interesting to me, or innovative, or legitimately sung with emotion and quality of tone and technique. Sorry, Adam. I love you. I love your voice. I love your ability to move me and tell stories. But, I won't be listening to pop radio in order to support you. Nope. Can't do it. I lose too many musical brain cells.

Gonna disagree here, I think he will go even more EDM especially if he wants to be on radio. Those collabs are hot and everywhere now.

There was an interview well after the Aoki song came out, and I think just before RHPS was announced, in which Adam said he had a "couple" of dance things in the works. Who knows, maybe he was being imprecise. But there's always hope! Whatever he has coming up is fine with me!

Jablea wrote: Just wanted to say thank you for such a (imo) reasoned, reasonable response. So articulate, so mature, so spot on, so charitably and kindly explained. And, to my mind, so true. We could use more people like you in our world today. Taking umbrage may feel good, or be a visceral response, or the result of mis-interpretation, but it never, in my experience, leads to improved communication. Thanks, Jablea, really appreciated your thoughts.

No offence intended but your prob not the target audience LOL. But they're a ton of great pop out their. I love Tove Lo, Pink. It may not be complex, and interchangble. But I like pop. Ppl don't listen to the radio for a great voice. It's the hook. But that's jmo .
