Adam's album TOH actually came in at #8 in the UK. Pretty good with so little radio play there. Adam has gone from being too unknown in UK to be a duet partner (even tho the contestant wanted to sing with him) to singing a duet in the UK but still not big enough. HA! That is progress, I guess. If they ever give him much radio play there, maybe one day he will be big enough in the UK. Then maybe not, lol. But I enjoy seeing this talented man with a great voice get so many opportunities that continue to come his way even if no one but his fans know who he is. Not sure why he is always in such demand but I'm glad he is. Love seeing him on tv anywhere. What contestant wanted Adam to sing a duet with him, but Adam was not chosen by the producers? What show was it and when was it?

DancyGeorgia some said yesterday Adam would not be chosen to duet with Saara cause he was not big in the UK. I'm thrilled that others thought differently.

In relation to the "niche artist" statement....I think that Adam still needs to find songs that match the power of his voice. I don't necessarily mean belter songs only, but definitely that "wow" factor - Runnin might have been a real solid singles choice, for instance. All Adam needs is that one song, as he is widely recognized for his vocal gift and his draw as a performer already.

Yay! Happy that Adam was the one picked to perform with Saara on XF UK. I guess my excitement was not wasted at all. Whatever they sing will be a treat but I still hope for WWTLF or TSMGo. I doubt Saara would be thinking I cannot sing that song because it is Adam's song. That is why she wants to duet with him because he is so good. On a different note, Kelly Clarkson got a Grammy nomination for "Piece By Piece" for Best Pop Solo (Idol version) Performance. That song and album were dead in the water before she used her last Idol performance to slay that song and bring it to life. Man, she sure took good advantage of that opportunity and it is still paying dividends. Seems emotional ballads can get nominations in pop. Congrats to her. So glad to see Kelly got the Grammy nomination for that performance!!! It was awesome, so emotional and heart felt. A song about going from great pain to great joy. So many of the best songs and most popular songs over the years have been about either or both. And having experienced both, Kelly is able to write about it and perform it with great conviction.

I don't necessarily mean belter songs only, but definitely that "wow" factor - Runnin might have been a real solid singles choice, for instance. All Adam needs is that one song, as he is widely recognized for his vocal gift and his draw as a performer already. Just to keep the facts straight -- she wrote "niche choice" not niche artist. Two different things. IMHO Adam is a singer's singer... Radio may not play him like they should ,but it seems that many singers want to sing with him... There are singer's singer's all over radio, Adele, John Legend etc. I think it's just the material that hasn't connected with the public. It has with me but I'm a diehard fan. Also the label needs to really push. Hopefully next album will have "THAT" song! JMHO -- Adam has had two great songs -- WWFM and "Ghost Town" -- but neither were right for the UK market when they were released. He also has one song that should have been a mega hit -- TOH -- and it is AU's fault that it was not released worldwide. Just kidding -- many great songs never get a shot as promoted singles. Every major pop artist has a few. The UK market is very hard for Americans because of the BBC programming rules and local content laws. Just the way it is. It is good for Simon Cowell, less good for radio listeners. There is finally pressure from streaming media that might force change. In the meantime, it is not good to be an American if you want to succeed on UK radio. You needs a major US hit (top 5) to cross over. Adam has never had one. "Ghost Town" is a hit -- but not a mainstream hit. It peaked at #64 in the US but it has huge streaming numbers even in the US. The timing will work for him -- sometime, someday. Right song, right time, right markets. One thing I know, the lack of monster hits is not based on lack of promo by his labels. I may not agree 100% with single selection but RCA and WBR both spent millions on promo.

Adams niche as he has yet find his lane. Ppl see him as genre blending. Niche is not a bad thing. I think she was just describing his position in the music scene, particularly in the U.K. At present. I aheee he just needs that one song. Runnin could of been it, but that's the past now. I'm excited to whatever he well sing. I am betting it's a cover. Queen song would be no massive issue for me. Saara should be quite capable of keeping up with Adam on WWTLF. But would love smgo.
ETA: I agree it's all about timing, luck, and right song. At some point it well come all together for Adam. He well have a #1 smash around the world. And we'll be talking about his Gramm nomination Haha. An example of ton of promo, millions spent. But little Commercial success is probably Gaga this year. RCA and Wbr spent millions in promo. But sometimes other factors come into play to why Sibgles don't become hits. RCA did promote Adam, so I always thought they got an unfair rep. They released the wrong music, at the wrong time.

Is everyone so desperate for real news that they are focusing on one word in an online article from Heatworld? So the writer is from the UK writing for a primarily UK audience and reflects a UK perspective. Seems perfectly rational to me. James Authur just had a #1 single and album in the UK. Weeknd has #1 albums and singles all over the world including the UK - Starboy and ICFMF alone make him mainstream. Adam is a "slightly niche choice" -- not a slightly niche artist -- choice. I think that is correct. IMHO Adam is a singer's singer... Radio may not play him like they should ,but it seems that many singers want to sing with him... I was not referring to radio. I did refer to the UK charts -- and in the UK both album and singles charts are based on sales. TOH is his top selling UK album -- and reported sales are <10K units in the UK -- probably about 12K now. I still think the writer was probably correct -- it is a "slightly niche choice." *** If someone can point me to the quote with niche artist in it, I would love to see it. As far as I can tell, no one wrote that Adam is a niche artist except for posters on this forum.

Adam will be in control of what he does and how. But I really would like to see something big or sweeping or a little bit rockish. Something that only a few others can do. Radio will play what they want to play no matter what unless you are one the chosen ones then it is everything. So my vote is to catch everyone's attention and see if that works. And Runnin was spectacular cause it would build and take you away. And he has had several wow songs on each of his albums. Adele has done wow. Bruno has done wow (and I don't mean the dance songs tho they were good also). The Weeknd's Earned it was wow. Haven't been too impressed with his other work but they get played a lot cause he broke thru. Excited to see what Adam puts out next. I think it will be different from his other releases.

Was James Arthur the one that sang with Vlado? Meh, didn't like him, thought he was boring (if he's the same guy).
Don't care what Adam sings, he's gonna be on UK TV !!!!!! If, indeed, that's what's happening...since apparently we don't have any real confirmation yet.
Maybe that's what Shosh's comment meant when she implied it wouldn't be long until we heard from him? Paraphrasing because I don't remember exactly what she said lol...she was just responding to someone's comment that it was going to be quiet.
I mean, realistically, he/she would have known about this before this week. They can't just spring a song on him 2 days before he's supposed to sing with Saara.
OT, but I'm so excited....3 more days and Isaiah's album comes out. Yay !! New music, can't wait. I decided to go on a Itunes shopping spree last week, but just couldn't get excited about anything.
Just ended up downloading Isaiah's single and Pentatonix song with Jason Derulo. Not much of a shopping spree lol.

From Unreality TV:
X Factor final: Saara Aalto worried by fans & Emily Middlemas blasts Simon Cowell!6th December 2016 by Angharad Part about Saara Aalto: Meanwhile X Factor finalist Saara Aalto recently admitted that she feared opening up about her sexuality but admitted that the reaction had been more than positive since updating her relationship status on Facebook. She told the Daily Star: “I was dating [my girlfriend] Meri for about a year and I was hiding her,” Saara confessed. “It was so stupid. I was taking selfies and always pretending I was by myself when of course I had my girlfriend next to me.” Despite the positive message that Saara is sending out, X Factor itself has been accused of failing to acknowledge the singer’s sexuality and her engagement but the show insists that the singer’s sexuality “isn’t relevant to her performance.” In one of the closest run X Factor Finals ever, this weekend is set to be good with The Weeknd and Adam Lambert confirmed to appear. Who do you think will win?
