I just did a quick reading of posts over the past 24 hours, and this is my take on Adam's status quo: He wanted dimmer switches, and he now presumably has those in every room of his multi-million dollar home, as well as a custom-designed and built backyard entertainment area. He wanted longevity, and he's hung in there (and, IMO, actually increased in at least public awareness, if not popularity, since his Idol finale in, what was it?, 2009?) He thrives on keeping busy, and he's been busy enough that blogs such as this one have had daily reports, if even just one little nibble, allllll theeeeeese years. He's made it!!!!!! There's no other way to look at it. He may not be Mr. Popularity on the charts, but, in my take on his personality, that's not necessarily where he aimed to be in the first place. From his critiques on XFactor, it's clear to me that being an "artist" is huge to him. The musicians of whom he is a fan are often off-the-beaten-path guys and gals. Taking risks and stretching oneself is what seems to make him tick. Sometimes, as in the case of Gaga, that makes one a mega-star. In other cases, it makes one a respected artist with longevity, if not vast popularity. I'm proud of him and I'm proud to be a fan who just KNEW he'd make it past those projected (by some nasty folks) 15 minutes of fame.

LOL...I love the part about the dimmers and how you put a healthy spin on the monetary side of things... As I've sayed before: In my book Adam is VERY successful. He's always busy, gets to do projects he likes, gets rave reviews for the things he does, he can bring his friends along... I understand the feeling that he "should" be even more popular, but on the other hand extreme fame can be the most isolating thing there is...
