I think A3 also was delayed some because of the QAL World tour. The decision to release the first single about 2 months after that tour ended and he had the time to promote that fully seems logical to me. Then the album came after that.
That first single (GT!) had a long build up because it was pretty long ago he had any music out. For a lot of radio stations it was sort of a come back single or at least that was how it was perceived in the Netherlands. From then he sorta stayed in the news. Although the last news that was reported about him here in the Netherlands has been quite some time ago already. GT and WWFM are however played regularly here in the Netherlands still. So if he gets a single out early 2017 that would be great!
ETA: or what marionm said!

The Voice (US) judges drama is heating up. I am hoping it gets really, really ugly. Blake and Gwen Stefani will be judges Spring 2017 -- I think this is the first time a married couple have been judges on a major talent competition show. Blake is bored with doing the show and wants a season off -- Fall 2017. The producers and NBC want him to stay -- badly. He is the most popular judge with viewers based on their research. As of now, Adam Levine will not be a judge on The Voice Fall 2017 -- supposedly he wants a break and he really does not want to work with Miley Cyrus again. (The two do not get along at all, big drama off-stage.) The producers and network are trying to get him to agree to do the season because they this the bromance with Blake is essential to the show. Unfortunately for my dream, if Adam Levine leaves for a season, they are planning to bring back Pharrell Williams for Fall 2017. :( My totally unrealistic and not happening dream is that Adam Lambert gets to be a The Voice judge Fall 2017 when he releases his new album. I know it is not happening but I continue to dream about it. Rooting for more judges drama, that Pharrell is way too busy to do it, and that the producers decide they must have at least one Adam every season.

Speaking to the leading publication at the BBC Music Awards on Monday night, the American singer said: "There is a lot of talk and a lot exciting stuff to discuss next year. I'm not ready to make announcements yet but there's a lot on the cards." And regarding the Glastonbury 2017 rumours, he said: "Who knows? That would be cool. You want to give them a call? If they invited me, yes, of course." Lambert rose to fame in 2009 after finishing as runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol. Since then he has sold more than 3 million albums and 5 million singles worldwide. He fronted Queen, which still contains original members Brian May and Roger Taylor in its lineup, at The Isle of Wight Festival 2016. Queen and Adam Lambert is the full name of the new collaboration, spawned after May and Taylor appeared on American Idol to perform a medley with the finalists. Lambert now has several hit singles and a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

I don't think we can judge timelines by either era 2 or 3. Just my opinion. ITA -- Adam seems on track for a 2017 album. This is nothing like any of Adam's other albums. A1 was put together rapidly while he was on the Idols Live tour. Many of the songs were selected by RCA A&R. A2 on track initially, but not accepted by RCA, Adam sent back to the studio to record some new songs. A3 delayed about a year because of transition to new label and decision to work on the album for a long, focused period of time. A4 if Adam is writing and recording demos now, he could have a finished album is Spring 2017, based on his typical timing. Assuming that WBR accepts the album as submitted (and they seen to have a great working relationship so not likely to be out of the look on creative direction), seems like 2017 to me. 100% agree!

Interesting post about The Voice judges, Q3! But when did Gwen and Blake get married? Also, Pharrell was a terrible judge! I'd be surprised to see him back. Was hoping for Adam as an XF UK judge in The Fall! But I would take The Voice! It was kind of weird that they made such a big deal about him being there a few weeks ago. Hmmmmm!

They will be married before the season starts -- at least according to US Magazine. OK not the best source. But they have told many people they are getting married. So I think they will be married. My dream remains The Voice US because it has the most impact on sales and radio airplay and streaming media play. I doubt it will happen. And unless Louis leaves (no sign of that), I think XF UK does not need another male judge. It was downright odd what a big deal they made of him being in the audience but I think that was just because they are doing everything they can for buzz and ratings. The Voice also has mentors -- requires less time -- so I will add that to my dream list.

Lambert now has several hit singles and a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. I would be shocked, absolutely shocked if Brian agreed to play Glastonbury -- because of the badgers. "Queen's Brian May: I’d refuse to play Glastonbury because Michael Eavis supports badger cull" www.plymouthherald.co.uk/queen-s-brian-8217-d-refuse-play-glastonbury/story-29138747-detail/story.htmlMichael Eavis would have to change his mind on two things 1. Badger Cull and 2. QAL is a good act for Glastonbury. He pass on them in 2015 even though Queen was pushing to be a headliner. Michael Eavis not only does Glastonbury but he is a major dairy farmer and an active supporter of the badger cull. www.theguardian.com/environment/2013/jun/21/michael-eavis-badger-cull-glastonbury-festivalIn other words, no matter what Adam says, unless Brian changes (not likely) or Michael Eavis changes (not likely), QAL is not playing Glastonbury. Adam did not offer up Glastonbury, he was asked about it and responded positively to the question. Then the press reversed it. Same as the Saara-Adam collab -- Adam did not offer it, he was asked if he would collaborate with her. Then the press reversed it. I sometimes hate the media!!

www.gaytimes.co.uk/culture/56612/x-factor-brian-friedmans-top-five-moments-from-week-ten/Brian Friedman about Adam. Quite interesting read! 5. Saara Aalto and Adam Lambert — Bohemian Rhapsody by QueenAdam cannot be messed with! Out of everyone and all the people who have ranked in this top five, he’s the best vocalist out of every single one of them hands down. What I love about him is he’s so gracious with Saara. He didn’t make it about him, and he was there to support her. It was so humble and refreshing to watch. He’s literally someone who can sing anyone under the table and not try and out-sing her. He let her have her moment and I know how much Saara loves Adam, and so I reached out to Adam a month ago or maybe more and asked how he felt doing The X Factor finale if someone was strong enough. As the competition was going on, I’d send him some links of the contestants, and in my mind he’d have sung perfectly with Saara or Matt. Little did I know was that he was one of the people Saara dreamed of singing with when he was on American Idol a long time ago. To be able to make that happen for her was really cool. It was obviously a perfect pairing and the crowd went wild. I think we had a really strong final in general. Was it a conscious decision to have two openly gay artists featured together in the final of the show? Do you know what’s funny, is that I never thought that, and as you said it right now it feels really good! [Laughs] It was never my intention and that says a lot about where we’re at right now vs where it was when I was a kid. I didn’t even realise we had two out artists on that stage together. In my mind, it was two vocalists who were incredible — I totally forgot about the fact they’re both open. They just so happen to be gay and if we can keep this going on, that would be a really great way of going forward!
