I can't view it. Do you mind telling us what it is? I tried to delete it when it came up with someone's Facebook photos - Sorry about that. It said ... "January 12th is National Kiss a Ginger Day!" Sounds like a nice day!!

I don't think a name change is a big deal to a dog. I wouldn't be surprised if most rescued dogs undergo a name change. I think they respond as much to the tone of voice and attention as to anything, and within a couple of weeks will be used to the new name. In the instance of going from one home to perhaps a shelter or rescue facility or foster home (or all three!) to a new home, a name change is probably a minor detail to the dog. Speaking from experience I will second this. Changing a rescue dogs name happens all the time and will likely be one of the lesser challenges. It can happen within a few days of one on one time and with a pocket full of treats. We rescued a three year old Havanese that had been saddled with the name, Floofey! We called her Molly. No issues. We also have a male Golden Retriever that will answer to whatever you choose to call him..... as long as a treat is involved. Agree, have done rescue my entire adult life, a name change is the very least of the problems to deal with. ^ Last nights work, and tonight hopefully the littermate.

I have a feeling that Pharaoh will be mightily accessorized! Yes, the blue fabric collar is already toast, replaced by a very nice leather one.

Last year, my brother-in-law came home with two beautiful dogs (toy poodles) given to him by a Japanese client who was going back to Japan and did not want to take the dogs back with him. One was about 2 years old and the other one was less than a year old. My nieces wanted to change the names (the older dog's name was.....drum roll please ......Mayumi)....told them NO, I liked the name, #grinsmiley. I did not tell them why since they didn't know that is my user name on this blog. So Mayumi remained Mayumi. The little one's name though was Cotton and the name did not fit since she was various shades of brown. So they settled on Button because she was cute as a button. Button adapted to the name very quickly.
For the next few days, we could not get them to do anything although we were told they are trained. We then realized they only knew Japanese, LOL. So we had to research simple commands in Japanese and sure enough they understood. Over time though they learned English although it took the little one much faster.

If Max is the same dog the center got him in November already. It could very well be that Adam saw him before and thought about it for some time. Maybe he can talk about it in an interview or something later. Walk Me Home Rescue Group added 2 new photos 19 November 2016 · Welcome Max to our Rescue Family . Max is a 2 1/2 basenji mix ,weighs 16 pounds , neutered , shots and microchipped. Max is dog , cat and people friendly . Best thing about Max as we're just getting to know him . He LOVES Children. Want to Thank Claudia for Fostering Max . Let's get MAX a Loving family before Christmas! www.Walkmehomerescue.orgFrom their instagram: walkmehomerescue Max 2 year old Basenji mix #adoptdontshop #basenjimix #adoptables #adoptabledog #adoptmeplease #adoptadog #dogsforadoption. #basenjilove #basenjimixes #basenjimixesofinstagram I do not think this is Adam's dog. Adam's dog has clear "mascara" lines around his eyes -- like Basenjis have. Max does not have this. There are many other differences -- like the angle and shape of the eyes.

I agree with you. I don't think Pharaoh and Max the same dogs.
