"As we continue to expand the profile of our live musicals, we are thrilled to be partnering with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice to bring a new live staging of the iconic 'Jesus Christ Superstar' to NBC," said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. "Casting has just begun, but we want to fill out this classic show with as many recording artists as possible to give proper voice to what is the original rock opera score."

I wonder if it would even be possible schedule wise for Adam to both be a judge on AI spring 2018 and be in the live Jesus Christ Superstar musical Easter 2018? If he is offered both and can only do one, which would he choose? I doubt Adam will get either opportunities because that's how DMG rolls. They are too focused on Queen which takes up most of his time. If DMG manages to pull it off I'll take everything I said about them back but I won't hold my breath.

That's how DMG rolls? I am not sure Adam getting the idol judging gig is primarily down to his management . I don't know what Jesus Christ Supetstar is. Is it a play? Rather him judge on idol. Then some silly broadway play. Jmo. I think that benefits him more.

I would be thrilled if Adam was offered only one(!) of those choices - my pick would be Idol, I think. More exposure...and he would have a chance to shine with his musical knowledge and charming personality.

Adam sounded very articulate as usual. He is such a good interviewee that it seems a waste when the interviewer is lacking and I was not impressed with this fella interviewer. He had such long pauses and seemed unprepared. Anyway, it was great to hear Adam speaking again. Now Back to my cave to continue my not-so-patient waiting for new Adam entertainment. That's just how Jim Kerr speaks. I've listened to him on the radio since the '70s. Actually, I thought he was quite well prepared and created an interview which gave a picture of who Adam is to maybe a bunch of classic rock radio listeners who are more into Allman Brothers than Queen.

If he is offered both and can only do one, which would he choose? He toured and did RHPS. So maybe both! A trickier thing might be, how can he do 2 QAL tours this year and the Idol auditions? If auditions were in Jan, especially if auditions only at Disneyland & Disneyworld instead of traveling all over.

Now we know why Shoshanna tweeted about Idol. John Legend is in talks to be an Idol judge. I also think Demi Lovato could be the 3rd judge. She is part of the Disney family and is signed to Hollywood Records.

This is from the Broadway World article! Quote from the producers! I like the JCS idea way more than idol. Not such a long time commitment and great exposure to a potential new fan base. By and large New American Idol watchers are likely to be the same watchers as old AI had. Also, look at the pedigree of the producers and directors - talk about big time exposure. "Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, who wrote the music and lyrics, respectively, for the 1971 rock opera, will executive produce with Marc Platt, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. While Zadan and Meron have exec produced every one of NBC's live musical productions going back to The Sound of Music Live! in 2013, this marks a first for Webber, Rice and Platt. The latter most recently exec produced Fox's Grease Live! in January 2016, which nabbed big ratings and won five Emmys, including one for Platt. (Platt also produced the smash movie musical La La Land.) Webber and Rice, who are both Oscar, Tony and Emmy winners, are also known for their collaborations on the musicals Evita and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Webber's other best-known musicals include Cats and Phantom of the Opera, while Rice's credits include The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. Universal Television will produce with The Really Useful Group, Marc Platt Productions and Storyline Entertainment." www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/nbc-sets-jesus-christ-superstar-live-musical-spring-2018-1002375?utm_source=twitter&utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral

It would be wonderful if Adam could land a role in the Jesus Christ Superstar production. The album release back in 1971 was epic - I was in a Catholic high school where "religion" was a required class all four years, and the lyrics and story line, as imagined by Rice and Lloyd Webber were discussed fully. I saw some remarks on Twitter questioning why it would be broadcast Easter evening, and whether, in these times when some Christian sects might object, it should even be presented at all. This, for a play which has become a standard for high school play productions, particularly for spring productions. Why do people overthink these things?
