It would be wonderful if Adam could land a role in the Jesus Christ Superstar production. The album release back in 1971 was epic - I was in a Catholic high school where "religion" was a required class all four years, and the lyrics and story line, as imagined by Rice and Lloyd Webber were discussed fully. I saw some remarks on Twitter questioning why it would be broadcast Easter evening, and whether, in these times when some Christian sects might object, it should even be presented at all. This, for a play which has become a standard for high school play productions, particularly for spring productions. Why do people overthink these things? Being the subversive ass that I am, I think a dark brown Jesus would be delicious. Yes, I am evil and will likely go to hell...so be it

Interesting. I usually see comments why Jesus is often depicted as blonde, blue-eyed scandinavian type. Rather than the darkly tanned person wandering in the desert.
You can cast any actor to the role. I question whether we should be concerned pre-casting with the producers' choice.

Now we know why Shoshanna tweeted about Idol. John Legend is in talks to be an Idol judge. I also think Demi Lovato could be the 3rd judge. She is part of the Disney family and is signed to Hollywood Records. He is? I haven't seen that article. Link? Google:

"As we continue to expand the profile of our live musicals, we are thrilled to be partnering with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice to bring a new live staging of the iconic 'Jesus Christ Superstar' to NBC," said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. "Casting has just begun, but we want to fill out this classic show with as many recording artists as possible to give proper voice to what is the original rock opera score." This is from the Broadway World article! Quote from the producers! I would love for Adam to have an offer for JCS over Idol. Hope one of them is the other item he couldn't mention last fall.

Someone said John was mentioned on ET as being in talks with Idol. With all the press that Adam generates with the mention of being an Idol judge, I hope they don't pass on him again?

Jesus Christ is on TV? Okay that would be different then.
Regarding Idol. From what I have read. Kelly is at the top of their alum judging list. So depends what format they go for. 3 Idol Alums, or only 1. IF 1 Kelly well probably be it. But depends if she wants too. They would be silly imo to pass up on Adam. He is in my opinion the Male Kelly. Frontman of Queen. So he knows what he is talking about from a singing aspect. So he brings that cred. He is good looking lol, charismatic, great personality. He had had exp as a winning judge on Xfactor Aus. SO I am sure they are considering him. It is no coincidence, he is featured heavily in these tv packages. I could see Kelly and Adam working well together. Guess it all depends on his schedule next year. He well prob be releasing his album next year. With how busy and congested Queen is this year.

Read It's going to be Kelly.. could be a rumor.. no matter what ,IMHO Adam will be on AI quite a number of times Whether it's Kelly or not, I do not think it will be Adam. The current social and political climate does not support a regular judge who is, as Adam would agree very left of center. NBC will want to bring in the core AI audience which is overall a little older and slightly right of center as well as attract a new and younger audience. I don't know how they plan to do this but I am sure there is a plan and it probably includes technology and social media. However, it probably does not include having a judge who is about a 7 on the scale from Neal Patrick Harris to Boy George. Adam has never really held back but I do think he was intentionally showing his more conventional side during the TOH era. Recently it seems that he has felt comfortable enough with his success and future to display his appreciation for all the boys and glory in the creativity of the arts. He has never liked being muzzled and I love that about him. I agree with you about Adam being on AI and I do think he will be a mentor. So it's all good. Adam might not be an AI judge -- I just don't think we know enough about what is going on behind the scenes. And I think it might not be a great move for him -- so put me in the "I hope not" camp. But I don't think Adam's political views are a negative. In fact, look at Steven Colbert -- he went back to his left-of-center political material and his ratings and online views went up significantly. Similarly, CNN shifted from the middle to the left and is crushing MSNBC in the ratings. The networks really only care about ratings. And regarding the audience, NBC wants the demo -- 18-49 year old viewers, preferable skewed younger. These are the viewers that advertisers pay for. They do not want the old Idol fans who are mostly over 50 years old now.
