Whether it's Kelly or not, I do not think it will be Adam. The current social and political climate does not support a regular judge who is, as Adam would agree very left of center. NBC will want to bring in the core AI audience which is overall a little older and slightly right of center as well as attract a new and younger audience. I don't know how they plan to do this but I am sure there is a plan and it probably includes technology and social media. However, it probably does not include having a judge who is about a 7 on the scale from Neal Patrick Harris to Boy George. Adam has never really held back but I do think he was intentionally showing his more conventional side during the TOH era. Recently it seems that he has felt comfortable enough with his success and future to display his appreciation for all the boys and glory in the creativity of the arts. He has never liked being muzzled and I love that about him. I agree with you about Adam being on AI and I do think he will be a mentor. So it's all good. Adam might not be an AI judge -- I just don't think we know enough about what is going on behind the scenes. And I think it might not be a great move for him -- so put me in the "I hope not" camp. But I don't think Adam's political views are a negative. In fact, look at Steven Colbert -- he went back to his left-of-center political material and his ratings and online views went up significantly. Similarly, CNN shifted from the middle to the left and is crushing MSNBC in the ratings. The networks really only care about ratings. And regarding the audience, NBC wants the demo -- 18-49 year old viewers, preferable skewed younger. These are the viewers that advertisers pay for. They do not want the old Idol fans who are mostly over 50 years old now. Idol will be on ABC guys not NBC. NBC is JCS hard to keep them all straight

I am not sure Adams cultural position well impact the decision. But yeah it is ABC not NBC. Can't have the evil Adam as a judge. He well ruin their demo lol. I am sure if Adam is a judge it wont make a difference either way. But yeah at this stage it is just pure speculation. Until Idol make any official statement.

Someone said John was mentioned on ET as being in talks with Idol. With all the press that Adam generates with the mention of being an Idol judge, I hope they don't pass on him again? Thanks for why John was mentioned for Idol. I just could not find any written piece through googling.
