Also on IG: gym_junk_e OMG I have met famous people before no problem. I was dying inside that I couldn't see him preform with Queen. I've been following him since American Idol, his time on Glee, and of course his albums. Decided to go to my favorite LGBT spot in the city and this amazing moment happened. Such an amazing voice! I was having a rough few days but this made it better!!!πππ΅πππ΅ #Blessed #LGBT #Pride #LiveYourLife #BeTrueToYou #LoveYourself #Gay #FTM #Music #KCMO #KansasCity #midwestliving #Talented #GreatVoice #AdamLambert #Queen #ILoveMusic #FanBoy #SundayFunday #MissieBs #NightLife #PricelessMoment #InShock #FreakingOut http://instagr.am/p/BWW1NL4Ah96

Patrick Chambers So...Queen + Adam Lambert was easily one of the best live shows I've ever seen. The production values were top, top notch, sound was very, very good, and performances solid and professional. It is difficult to imagine anyone more qualified to fill Freddy Mercury's shoes than Adam Lambert. He's got the vocal chops, he's got the attitude. He is quite different than Mercury, but still fits what Queen has always been about. The things they are doing with video displays, lasers, moving lights and moving stage components are jaw dropping these days. Special note must be made of Dr. Brian May, Astrophysicist and rock guitar god. Dr. May turns 70 in 9 days, but he still has all his chops, and prances around the stage like a much younger axe slinger. I don't consider May to be one of the true giants of rock guitar, but he's no damn slouch, either, and his riffs are original, crisp and attention-grabbing. An extended Echoplexish, looped solo performed against a stunning space backdrop with laser stars projected throughout the venue was actually the highlight of the night for me...and all done while on a platform some 25 feet above the stage. And let's face it...he is very likely the greatest astrophysicist guitarist in the world. And, as long as we're talking about mature musicians, drummer Roger Taylor (who turns 68 in 16 days) can still beat the skins with power and precision. His voice, so essential to the wonderfully lush harmonies for which Queen is known, is also still solid and present. While I wish I had seen Queen while Freddy was still alive and John Deacon was on bass, I'm glad I've seen them in the present, and glad for the incredibly superior tech available these days that makes live shows look and sound so goddamn amazing. A memorable night. Patrick Chambers As as side note, let me just mention that this was also the second most...how do I say this sensitively?... "ethnically homogenous" concert I have ever attended. The only one that was moreso was Tori Amos. We also had a few chuckles with similarly superannuated attendees who were huffing and puffing, using canes and otherwise being obvious longtime fans of this band who first hit big in the early 1970's, as one of the most successful of what we then referred to as Glam Rock bands. 'Tis pity that Sweet is down to a single original member, and hasn't had a big venue gig in decades. They would make a wonderful opening act for Queen...but then Queen filled very nearly two solid hours on their own, and did so with very little filler.
