I appreciated your post melliemom ! They don't like pop, but like Adele Like me a friend who has a degree in vocals sais Adele sings with too much pressure on her throat and her vocal problems speak for themselves, that she doesn't have a very sustainable technique. May I ask you cassie to say a word on this of you like? I agree that Adele has a lot of strain and pressure when she sings. It sounds like she is forcing out the notes. It is painful for me to listen to. It is very harmful on the vocal cords, and the problems she has had were totally predictable. Inevitable, in fact. I thought that after her surgery to repair her cords she would work with a vocal coach to change her habits and use proper technique, but, surprisingly, she still sounded the same. Why? Did she not want to change her sound because so many fans love that throaty, smoky tone? Did she think that she could preserve her voice with elixirs, inhalers, new age crystals? Or did she somehow, subconsciously, want to torpedo her concert career? I have read that she hated touring.

Thank you.. I felt like It's my daughter's opinion.. somebody who really wants to embrace Adam for his gorgeous voice but just can't get right with his songs or over production..So It's one opinion.. I too love Adam just singing front and center, his voice being enough to take one to heaven and back. But like my daughter said,"If Adam won't listen to you mom,why would he listen to me" LOL.. like we know him personally wish, wish. I do like this almost quote From maybe Cassie.. " Adam has a ferrari in his garage, but prefers to drive a ford" He likes pop and emulates lesser singers but he is so much more...I get by on the songs of glory he sends out like "One more Try"IMHO Adam is in the same league as George Michael,Freddie Mercury,David Bowie etc. He needs songs that show him to be in that league. Nothing wrong with singing great covers either.A mic ,a stool, a stage and that glorious voice...glory Y'all know how besotted I am with Adam's voice. But I have to agree with your daughter about the songs he has recorded and promoted. While the are generally more melodic than many pop songs, they are still limited compared to other genres and styles. And way overproduced. He has also modified (in my opinion, dumbed down) his voice to more closely match the sound we are used to in dance and top 40 tunes. I have a select playlist of his recordings that have less production and more voice, but mainly I listen to his pre-fame stuff and Queen, whose music challenges his voice. The only point where I disagree with your post is that Adam is not in the same league as George Michael, Freddie and Bowie. Not even close. Adam's voice has much more texture, variety, refinement, control, resonance, flexibility, and vastly more technique than the others. He is one in a billion!

Oh I misspoke and I agree with you he is one in a billion...The singers mentioned are not in the same league as Adam. Now what will convince him to drive that Ferrari?????????????

Any discussion on voice, especially Adam's, is central to why I am here whether lurking or active. So as for the list for Angelina, please add me as well - whatever number it's up to. LOL
