Could be my imagination but doesn't Adam take/post a lot of pictures/video clips with birds in them when he travels?

From my perspective, Adam isn't wasting any of the opportunities that he has right now and luckily, he has a TON of flexibility for someone juggling a massive band gig like Queen and a solo career. His time for his own music does not seem to be on everyone's timetable but he's one lucky and incredible force to be reckoned with and to get both sides of the coin is amazing, and very few get this kind of opportunity at any point in their careers. Adam is incredibly smart regarding his career path and I think he might not get enough credit for that at times, generally speaking. No one is forcing him to sing lead for Queen and he does it out of sheer enjoyment and naturally, for a hefty paycheck. Most importantly, he is happy, and that should be enough.

They're probably Common Swifts... Tons of them in Europe!

Agree - the birds that Adam photographed around the chateau are Common Swifts. These birds are indeed common through much of the world, and this time of year (fall equinox) they are preparing for migration from Europe to the south in Africa to spend the winter - that's why so many are seen flying and circling around together right now. Swifts can't perch on tree branches like other small birds, but instead they will fly into chimneys, hollow trees, or maybe even a chateau tower where they roost for the night by clinging to the walls before continuing on their journey. Out here on the West Coast (California) we have a different swift species (Vaux's Swifts) and they do the same thing - on an early fall evening before sundown we can sometimes see hundreds of these little birds flying around over ponds - but in a few weeks they'll also be gone as they wend their way toward Central & South America. BTW - I think it's cool that Adam noticed these birds and photographed them - he has a good and sensitive eye for nature in many of his photos.
