He said "vegan" guys! That's really hard! It is hard! I have family members who are vegan and they claim whatever minor health issues they had before totally cleared up. I have great admiration for people who can manage this.

He said "vegan" guys! That's really hard! He's gonna miss the protein from those eggs and salmon he loves to cook. lol Maybe this will be like he used to say he's vegetarian, but will eat a steak on occasion. lol. Good for him if he can make it work long term. It would be extremely hard. Is Brian a vegetarian or a vegan? I know he is really particular with what he eats. I'm pretty sure he's vegetarian. I am pescetarian and eat fish, and that one is pretty easy to follow.

I brought this post over from yesterday to comment. I did not see that performance but I said when I first heard the song that SS is singing like he has marbles in his mouth. There is nothing really moving or noteworthy about that song. It sounds like everything else he does. That undeniable hit song criteria that some keep applying to Adam seems just made up to me. Songs become hits because radio will play them to death and acts get many appearances on major shows and award shows to promote their songs. They are undeniable hits because of who they are and you know almost before hand they will be hits. If you look at someone like Carrie Underwood, automatically she will have several undeniable hits from her album because county will play her into multiple #1 spots even when the song or songs are not that good. That is the case for many other artists so not picking on SS. Okay, I had to go and find the performance on YT. I didn't think it was terrible. Sam was on pitch throughout (with one or two slight errors), and he didn't sound like he was using autotune. He has good control of his voice and has a clear tone. But, I can see how those of us enchanted by Adam's voice and performance style would be left cold by Sam. Adam's tone quality is so different from Sam's. Much rounder, richer, fuller, and more mature. In contrast, Sam uses a lot of nasal tone which can sound whiny. It has little heft compared to Adam's, and that, coupled with the nasality sounds, to me like a whiny adolescent. When Adam sings a ballad his interpretation and tone draw me in emotionally. He always has an arc to the song so it doesn't all sound the same verse to verse, or song to song. Sam does this strange thing with his pronunciation. He greatly de-emphasizes consonants, particularly the plosives: t, d, k, g, ch (consonants made by stopping the air flow and then explosively releasing it) and to a lesser degree the fricatives: f, v, s, sh, th (releasing air in a hissing flow). Don't know if it is a style choice, a technique someone taught him, or a way to control popping the mic. Consonants are difficult to handle in singing, particularly with a microphone. To pronounce the consonants one has to actually stop the musical tone for a micro-second. Also, the release of air can be amplified too much by the mic, resulting in popping and hissing. Adam is a master at articulation, clearly pronouncing the consonants but not so that the mic pops and hisses. I think he has studied it formally, and practiced it extensively. It enhances his sound and his interpretation when the listener can hear consistent vocal tone and simultaneously understand every word. Two very different sounding singers. I imagine many listeners prefer one or the other style. Just for the record, I was in no way comparing Sam to Adam as far as vocal ability or articulation with my post. I just did not enjoy the SS song that much when I heard it. Like most people, I like what I like and hear what I hear. I was mostly talking about the frustration of hearing about the undeniable hits that people keep throwing out there.

He recently said that, in either an interview, or IG or tweet. I was really surprised. Thought he was vegan for sure. Guess Adam will have to have a new concert venue rider!

I think with Adam he probably won't go 100% and worry over every little ingredient and dish. JMHO He's already told us he avoids dairy because of how if affects his singing, etc. I think with him it's all about how he feels as a result. Don't think there is any ethical concerns motivation. I wish I had more willpower. I love vegatables....but I also love meat and carbs and sugar.....lol

So if Adam is going vegan, is he going to get rid of all of his leather?? I haven't listened to the interview yet... I try to reduce our meat consumption but without a lot of success. Whenever we drive through eastern Washington and Oregon I'm struck by how much land (and water) is devoted to growing hay for cattle. We buy our beef from a local farmer about a half mile away. And half a pig a year from another local farm that raises them in humane conditions. Could probably do better on chicken and eggs. And never never never buy farmed salmon!! Adam! You hear that? Haha.

(even my DH who thought prior to watching that I am just biased, didn't make it through either of his performances). Sometimes it just doesn't make sense to me why some artists get the benefit of the doubt over others. Last SNL was an extreme case for me. CU...I get why country fans like her. She is good looking, nice voice, non threatening, all American. Not my cuppa though.

LOL. He's quite impressionable. Does this mean no more eggs? lol Have to be aware of what you put into your body......does tequila and weed count? lol Like the way he redirected the question about being involved with this charity. He's good at that. I think the "vegan" comment wasn't meant to be that deep. It is such a next level from a "vegetarian" diet and really tricky for an active and busy person to fulfill the protein requirements. Not sure if Adam would want to eat quinoa three times a day haha. (my daughter tried a vegan diet for quite a while, but she said she had lower energy and felt constantly hungry, so now she is back to eating a vegetarian diet, consciously, and she even included lean meat or fish again for once or twice a week. I pretty much do the same, but I do limit the eggs and the meat and I am very picky where I get my groceries)
