I have some good news about my good buddy Uke. He has passed the 4 month marker which is the time frame the vet gave me for survival so he is beating the averages and is hopping along on 3 legs and playibg ball and chasing our cats(in a loving way) and licking everybody's face. So happy to hear your good news, Cookeejar!! Yes, your buddy Uke is beating the odds, and hopefully will continue to do so. Thank you so much, Q3, for this wonderful idea, and for all you do for Adamtopia. We need to hear about good things during these tumultuous times, and thanks to everyone who has shared "something good". It has been uplifting to read these posts in the midst of our sorrow. This forum is so much more than an Adam fan community; it is a community filled with such love and compassion, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it. Adam continues to bring hope, light, love and a sense of unity to this crazy world that we live in, and the Glamberts here are so special.

Received this pix this morning from a friend temporarily working in Nevada. It was like a breath of fresh air with all the disasters we've had recently.

Lovely picture of our beautiful earth. There are so many beautiful places on this planet. It would be wonderful to have a lot of money to travel. I guess I will have to live vicariously through Adam. I am so glad he thinks of all of us when he is traveling the world and sends his fans pictures. Thank you Adam for your kind thoughts of your fans. It makes me think you really do appreciate all the love we try to send you.

My "something good" is a favorite memory I have with my Dad because of Adam. (I may have posted this story here before.)
I was visiting my father and was on the telephone giving instructions to my husband about buying Adam's Rolling Stone as I didn't think I'd find it in my small hometown.
When I hung up the phone my father asked "Who's on the cover of the Rolling Stone?" Next thing I know we're in front of the computer screen with the lyrics to "Cover of the Rolling Stone" singing it together. My father has since passed but I often think of this moment shared with him and smile. It's Adam's fault.

I don't follow P!nk closely but have always liked her. With album sales being way down what do you think accounts for this? They expect her to be the highest selling female so far this year. Katy, Kesha, Miley saw their numbers way down. Not sure about Kesha tho her may have been the same as in the past. But even Kelly is expected to be much lower and WMG/Atlantic has been going all out for her. They even threw an album release party at her home in Nashville and flew in radio people from around the country. What in the world happened with P!nk? I'm happy for her tho really surprised. It's been much anticipated and she is Incredible. Her fans have been waiting!! Her promo has also been great! A CD comes with her concert tickets too, but IDK how/if those get counted. Good for P!nk. She is 38 years old and I read that she said married with 2 kids and her age she would not chart high on top 40 or stream much anymore. She is doing pretty damn good, lol. She is at 13 top 40 so far. Kelly is also married with 2 kids and she is 35 years old and coming in at 25 on top 40 so far. Both are still moving up so go ladies. They are ignoring the you are too old (with kids) for top 40 naysayers!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ...
... adamjacko, glamgrl89, jesse555, ...
... stampsgal, tnkrbell80 and wackywocky! BETTY! Your birthday cake for this Libra gal...aligns with my likes/traits so well...love to decorative, love flowers, and it is halfway healthy with the fruit and yet sinfully whip creamed "to death". I do appreciate your effort in sourcing these cakes...I am sure it takes hours. Longer than to bake a cake! Thank you!Good day in my world ---other than my lap top ran out of power with a long post I had started---too many calls tonight. Now my post edit got lost with a drop file or something. But, my nephew/wife had healthy "in vitro" (one month premature) twins, born naturally a half day ago.
Preparing for disaster has truly kept me up at night and I keep on thinking about--- what would I do with a 5, 10 or 30 minute warning like so MANY ATOPERS HAVE HAD TO FACE. Reality was hitting hard and fast. I encourage people to really think about this. As one who has lived in a city that has had 3 of the top 10 natural disasters in Canada --and coming out fairly unscathed...the devastation, worry, stress and anxiousness of friends and family that were truly affected/effected and needed help weighed on me at the time. At home, I organized important documents into carry cases, rearranged where I kept things valuable to me, considered cash on hand, etc. etc. Is the safety deposit the best place for some things or NOT! All these catastrophic winds, rain, and fire swirling about in the world, has been brutal. They "used to" advertise on TV about having an emergency plan. WELL what about now. I still feel the need to be even more thoughtful about planning.
My DH and I lived through several tornadoes when in grad school in Indiana. We knew nothing about what to do in a tornado and were stupidly looking out the residence window, amazed at how pitch black it was outside. June 2013 I left home very early to do provincial exam supervision at a private school and had no clue they cancelled school that day as the the city was being flooded by snow melting off the mountains due to the heavy rains. It was almost 4 hours before I got back home as where/how do you turn around to go home when in grid lock! (2nd largest natural disaster in Canada --100,000 forced from their homes) The river flooded the district below us. I advised the school of the risk they put us in---policies now include cancellation advisement to include all guest teachers when a school day is cancelled. LIKE DUH! I talk with my sister who lives in a mountain resort town who has to contend with flood and fire. My sister is mere miles from a fire zone. My sister's friends in BC are ready and packed to go at any moment with some fires not in control.
Cross fingers for everyone --when these things happen.
