Well let’s see, no recent music on the radio, no music currently on the radio, no indication of any near future music for the radio, not the crowd or event for 40year old covers.... I do wonder and worry a bit about what must go through his head when he attends these events as a spectator though. That has to be hard on the confidence and the will. Not to be argumentative but what does that have to do with a charity event!!!!!!!!! He's as much a name as some I saw at this event! Depends on the target market of the event. The CBS event was radio driven, Adam has no radio presence at the moment, hence not a draw for the event.

I'm pretty sure there are a lot of singers on radio who have not been abused. Sometimes it is label support. Excellent management Radio payola in some way. And sometimes talent is showcased in the right place to open some doors. And some don't face the same biases that others face and strive to overcome. When Adam first started out and was getting more opportunities and publicity than other Idols, some nasty Cook fans were tweeting out very ugly and made up assumptions as to why he was getting better opportunities than their guy. They could not accept that his talent, charisma, interest, and support were working in his favor. And he is still doing better and has more high profile opportunities than Cook to this day. What happened to Curtis was terrible and should not happen to anyone. But no assumptions from me that others can't succeed unless they have been victims or cause they slept their way to the top. It happens but not for everyone. I'm not assuming that it's an "either-or" situation, but the last couple of weeks taught us that the phenomena is very wide spread, especially when you're a woman or a gay man. I was just going to say pretty much the same thing, katycake. If there is anything to learn about this "Me Too" campaign, it is the ubiquity of harassment in the entertainment industry, as well as our whole society. Adam virtually NEVER lets us know the negative issues and situations he deals with or has ever dealt with....that is his way. I do not for one minute believe he does not have these things to deal with, simply that he only even hints publicly of these things much later. It took him quite some time to hint at the pressures he was subjected to, and his fears for his career, after the whole AMA mess....and to argue that this did not impact his career is, IMHO, a bit unreasonable [albeit there are many here who will always argue this]. He was poised to be the breakthrough Gay Artist....then was shut out...and they settled on Frank Ocean and Sam Smith for the honor....the music industry was courting Adam in a big way till then. Would Adam have benefitted long term from that...?...we will never know....I think he would have 'conquered Europe regardless....but QAL may never have happened...or it may have....it is all good. He is in a good place, still has all his long term friends, and a good life. That is the important thing. As well...he is someone who is giving other lgbt artists a role model ... and that would not necessarily have been the case if he would have succumbed to keeping his sexuality low key. For these reasons, it is easily argued that the AMA show was the best long-term thing that could have happened. I think.

Ever since I read Simon Curtis’ Twitter thread a few days ago about how he’d been abused, I stopped being jealous about other singers’ success. I realize I must have lived in fantasy land, thinking that being gay has got nothing at all to do with how successful you are. Even if the main public doesn’t mind, as long as the strong people in the industry want to have leverage over you, they will. Adam never let himself be a victim. You never know what the successful singers had to go through in order to make it. It might have ruined their whole lives. I’d rather have Adam happy than on radio. Two points, first and foremost no one LET’S themselves be a victim. That is victim blaming at its core, both successful and unsuccessful people are potentially subject to abuse. Second, none of us have any idea if Adam was ever a target or not. I certainly hope not but the reality of the world is that anyone who is perceived as less than by someone who seeks to exert power is a potential target.

@graciejane why would it be hard on his confidence and will? Genuinely asking out of wonderment not in a confronting way... Adam is a music lover, my take would be he simply enjoys them and or finds inspiration... How much success he really wants for himself remains speculation. My guess is it's a back and forth of being content an wanting more. That the business is not solely about talent is fact and he knows that and has said so. Glad I'm not the only one who's having a grumpy day^^...starting with the hissy fit this morning, I've been bitchy all day...but those upcoming concerts sure give me a boost loool Speaking of grumpy..."grumpy old men" is one good movie, sure to make you laugh No doubt Adam enjoys other artists’ music. But imo, it would be hard at some level, to see others having popular market success when you work equally or harder. Does looking to someone else for inspiration not at some level say they have achieved something you have not? One does not work as hard as he does without some desire for success and recognition. Just normal human emotions, hence my wonder/worry comment. None of us know exactly what he wants, he may not either, as those desires may ebb and flow for many reasons. I’m not grumpy, at least I don’t think I am, just kicking some thoughts around. Clearly somewhat fake....he was wearing purple pants and 'not matching' sweater....hardly a Suit!! good grief....they saw the pic of him posted from the GLAAD site that included the Spirit performance and claimed he was wearing a suit....sheesh...

There are many women coming forward now but I think most already knew that crap was happening in Hollywood and always has. Thus the term "Casting couch" which must be awful to experience. Have only heard a few gay men making this charge tho. There are not many gay music stars but many in Hollywood and on Broadway, like Curtis, and some with power where it would be more likely. Maybe we have not heard much from them because they are not famous. In any event, it is good that a spotlight in on this situation in a big way now. Time for them to clean up this mess for everyone.

Seems like it. We are still missing the Extra interview on the red carpet earlier as well. What can't be released yet that he gave as information? Gelly cropped the pictures of Adam:

Adam is about to tour Europe ,24 cities, with Queen.. I'm a very happy fan.IMHO ,Adam seems to be living his life ,his way inspite of the hellish music business. He also has the best mentors in the world to talk to and to learn from.....
He is loved for who he is and he is admired for his talent and his courage... so not being invited to sing some places...'Two Fux'
