Stampsgal, Adam has no writing credit on WWFM. Did you mean Adam? Or were you referring to P!NK cowriting WWFM with Max Martin? Yes, I was referring to the song WWFM, as being co-written by Pink, Max Martin and Shellback Productions. But also, the fairness of how the song has been appropriated by Pink from writing credits to whose song is it--- Pink's or Adam's? I used WWFM/Pink as an example of, a song sung by Adam, when declined by Pink for her Fun album. Then she chooses to include WWFM (after it gained notoriety by Adam) for her “best of album”. I perceive this song to be Adam's. How did her cover of the song, on her album, impact Adam? This is a legal blindside to streaming/payment for his version of WWFM. I wonder what she paid to Adam’s label to cover the song? Or, what rights does she have for it? I find this whole music industry is so confusing. I was just trying to say ...it is a cover of co-write by 3 people not just Pink. Credit seems to be, Pink. It is more rare that the other 2 co-writers are mentioned. Is this fair? Well, by the way the industry works…it seems that is just the way things are in this business. (Surely there is an ethical way to share the information in the correct context/interview. Things can change for the better.) Max Martin produced the song -- and he gets a songwriting credit whenever he produces a track (as do all the big producers). Shellback did the arrangement and instrumentation. In the case of WWFM, Pink actually wrote the song and decided not to record it for personal reasons -- her inspiration was a troubled relationship with her husband but it was not troubled when they picked songs for the album. So she cut it. It is still P!nk's biggest hit as a songwriter for another artist and Adam's only US Top 10 hit.

I think Ada is good, but don't agree with Lyndsey at all about this performance. The show did not just “go on.” As Katy noted, this was when the episode really got going! Looking regal in a Jobriath-esque fun-fur cocoon coat, Suzie Bubble topknot, and Dr. & The Medics spangled choir robe, Ada belted this heartbreaking power ballad magnificently. If Adam Lambert ever has to take a night off from the Queen tour, Brian May and Roger Taylor should ring up the artist formerly known as Adam Sanders. Luke said this was “the biggest voice I’ve ever heard.” www.yahoo.com/entertainment/yo-idol-raps-jurnee-makes-history-top-14-show-031910151.html Ada's performance was underwhelming for me. I might be biased or simply too used to Adam's version of the song, but I wasn't feeling it. I have to disagree with Lyndsey this time, but I will leave the yahoo link alone and not bother commenting. It was a disappointing Idol night for me overall, contrary to all the standout performances last week. The only two performances that I really liked were the final two by Michael and Gabby.

I have always assumed Pink wrote most of the lyrics...but the articles on WWFM indicate Martin and Shellback must have contributed in some way to the lyrics...that or they negotiate a pretty tough deal to get on songwriting credits without contributing in that area. Personnel[40] Songwriting – Pink, Max Martin, Shellback
Production – Max Martin, Shellback Keyboards – Max Martin Drums, guitar and bass – Shellback Recording – Max Martin, Shellback, Al Clay, Ann Mincieli Recording assistant – Chris Galland, Doug Tyo, Christian Baker Mixing – Serban Ghenea Mix engineer – John Hanes Mixing assistant – Tim Roberts I copied a few of the other songs from the album and the producers are listed in another column not under song writers. These names are listed as the writers. Writers: 1. "Music Again"
Justin Hawkins 2. "For Your Entertainment" Lukasz Gottwald Claude Kelly 3. "Whataya Want from Me" Pink Max Martin Shellback 4. "Strut" Kara DioGuardi Greg Wells Adam Lambert 5. "Soaked"
Matthew Bellamy 6. "Sure Fire Winners" David Gamson Alex James Oliver Leiber 7. "A Loaded Smile"
Linda Perry 8. "If I Had You" Martin Shellback Savan Kotecha

And oddly enough they are two of the three contestants, along with Dennis, who chose Adam as one of their favorite Idols. They both did a great job. And Lyndsey just sounds silly. Does she really think that Adam is that easy to replace? No one since he was on the show has had the kind of buzz he had. I get she is trying to compliment Ada, but sorry, that performance was not a watercooler moment.

The problem with Ada's performance, for me, was not the vocal. She did fine on that, but OFC, she's no Adam Lambert But who is! What she did was try to be different with her phrasing and it totally did NOT work! Awful phrasing. She looked gorgeous though!

I don't watch the show but I do watch some of the vids that are posted here. Ada has a good voice. But she is NO WHERE NEAR ADAM in tone and richness and inflection. I find her voice kind of grating. Yes, she hits the notes just fine. I wonder if she has ever heard Adam sing this song? I don't mean that she should copy Adam. But this song is a real tour de force that needs far more than Ada has to give IMO. I wish her luck. And as for Lyndsey, I don't know what she's thinking, but no way should Ada be on stage with Queen. When you choose a song that belongs to both Freddy and Adam Lambert, you're in a whole new stratosphere of vocal prowess.

Uff. I just listened to the performance of TSMGO by Vada (whom I don’t know). I found the singing awful. It might be ok for a singing competition, but nothing more. The biggest „problem“ I have is the timing of the words. Especially in the beginning I found that completely off. If she would replace Adam (as Lindsey suggested), I would want my money back. Sorry. I‘ve never heard her sing before and I‘m sure, she can do other songs better. By the way: I remember, that I read an interview (with Adam ?), where he described the difficulties singing that song. And one was, the timing. The sentences don’t start on the beat and therefore most singers have problems. I‘m therefore not sure, that the differences in phrasing and timing aren’t planned to avoid these difficulties. For me that change destroys the song. I also read a comment/article, that analyzed the differences between Marc Martel and Adam. And they were compared on TSMGO. And Mark had a similar problem. He managed it mostly by training, but not always. There was a nice version of the song done on X-factor UK once. I liked it better than yesterday’s, because it was changed completely. Here is the link: youtu.be/1qtF8DqqjOUBut let’s face it: that song IS a beast. It comprises 2,5 octaves in the original key. It’s as high as a song for a male voice can be. Plus the unusual timing and the pure energy the singer needs to convey the meaning. There aren’t many singers able to sing it at all... It’s one of my absolute favorites though and I was so happy, that on my first day seeing QAL (and Adam), they performed it.
