As Adam said in the BUILD interview, he didn't start his career with the goal of becoming a gay role model and icon. He is an obsessed singer and performer, and I believe that was his only focus. Probably didn't dawn on him that with the fame would come the spotlight on being gay. In hindsight, tho', he seems to have been the right guy at the right time, making the right moves to gain widespread attention and to inspire so many others and to advance LGBTQ acceptance. Now, here he is, nine years later, a crucial figure and icon. Having followed him from Idol on, and sweating thru all the controversies, I am so glad he didn't take the safe, sanitized, closeted route to stardom. He may not have the type of fame of Bruno or Bieber or Sheehan, but his career and his life have so much more significance, and I am so proud of him. We were just discussing this with my sister vilynka87 after the interview. What Adam did while taking such a huge risk to his own career means so much to so many people and it really does go beyond the music industry. To add, by doing what he did back then and all the years till now he inspires not only the LGBTQ community but, personally he inspires me to be more bold and do what i want to do no matter what anyone says.

I am late to post today, so forgive me if this lenghtens a discussion already finished. To start on a bright note, Adam, oh, Adam, as Melissa Etheridge said. Has he ever looked better?!!! And what wonderful work he is doing with BUILD.
However, as someone said, unless Adam knows something that otherr people don't know, he made two significant errors that, as a frontman of several years, simply should have never happened. I do not agree with the person who said these mistakes didn’t matter. I'll bet they matter to Brian, a lot if he the perfectionist he seems to be, to Roger, and to lots of other people. A cursory glimpse online states that this song was written and released in 1986. Brian May composed it in 20 minutes in the back of a car after watching the scene of Heather’s death in Highlander.
And of course, Freddie never married, but he called Mary Austin his wife and left her the majority of his riches. After meeting and falling in love with Jim Hutton, Freddie often called him “my husband”. I must go out, but again, information on who these people were is very easy to find. Yes, Adam has had a lot on his plate recently, but there have certainly been opportunities over the years for him to read a couple of sources and to go to the best sources of all.that is, unless he knows something we don’t about at least about one of these things.
Anyway, this doesn’t mean that I don’t admire Adam for so very many reasons. England seems especially to love him. I am glad !
