Sigh....never said I wasn’t proud of Adam....never said he should know entire back-catalogue....Never said he wasn’t an excellent frontman. I love Queen; I love Adam. I stand by my belief that accuracy in certain things can be key. I am incredibly far from perfect myself. But thanks to Cassie for “ putting me in my place”, which is permanent lurk status. As vividly illustrated by a discussion sometime during the past couple of weeks in which even a long-term member of the forum felt that she had to leave, I should have known better. I just woke up, so I couldn’t answer earlier. But I‘m with you on your first post. cassieThe interview is in this attitude magazine with all these great pictures. It’s in English. Adam is asked, what surprised him the most about Freddie? Adam answered, that Freddie was bisexual and had been married. And that he and his wife had lived and stayed together for a long time. He is simply wrong here. And I don’t love Adam less, because of it. But when he always says, how big of a fan he is in concert and then he doesn’t seem to know facts like this, it is astonishing. And off. It makes him look simply stupid. And I‘m actually coming from „mother-hen mode“ as well, because I just hope, that some of the nastier Queen-fans will never see that interview. If he doesn’t know Queen’s history that well, he should be very careful, when he talks about it. Sorry, my opinion.

In the states some consider common law relationships marriages. My nephew considers his common law wife his wife tho they have not officially married. We introduce her and treat her as his wife without giving it a second thought. A lot of people do that. It is not that uncommon. In some states, the state government even considers them marriages when they end and assets need to be divided or for spousal support. I think we are too quick to jump whenever he makes a mistake or doesn't view or say things the same way we would. Just like the Europe and UK thing. Adam wasn't the one who invented saying them separately. No finger wagging was required for that. I think Adam is a smart guy who does not always get everything right and we don't either. And does anyone even care about the nastier Queen fans still? What are they going to do, stop him from being the Queen frontman cause he said something they did not like?

And does anyone even care about the nastier Queen fans still? What are they going to do, stop him from being the Queen frontman cause he said something they did not like? Some short answers: Since I started the discussion about Europe and the UK: Sorry, that I asked a question, that I had for years. That phrasing is odd for me and I was just curious, what it’s about. I wasn’t „wagging my finger“ at Adam or criticizing him. I even mentioned, that Queen used that phrasing as well. And about the discussion above: Adam said explicitly,, that Freddie was „married“. It’s not about the using of the term „wife“. What could Queen-fans do? Concerning this interview and the statement from today about WWTLF they probably won’t know and won’t „do“ anything. It’s not important. But some of them are publishing and writing reviews ect for magazines. Queen is/was very popular and music lovers/experts do know about these things. My only concern is, that Adam should be careful, what he says about Queen. Brian and Roger (and everybody involved) have always been very careful. They never told much about anything (recording/ private lives / even tour lives). So the few things, that they did tell, are rather well known by fans and in the industry. The frontman not getting these things right can throw a shadow on Adam’s reputation of being the perfect frontman and a very professional artist. Don’t get me wrong: He would still survive. But he worked very hard to gain the trust and acceptance by the Queen-Fans and managed to „turn“ most of them. I don’t want him to lose that. 😉

To all those who are upset over some of Adam's miswording on Queen facts.. So did you like the interviews? I always go for the positive.. I think Adam is a born interviewer /interviewee.. As far as his smarts ,come on ,the guy is totally brilliant.

As far as his smarts ,come on ,the guy is totally brilliant. Did I like the interviews? I was happy to see/read new interviews. Adam looks more than great and is as talkative and absolutely likable as always. But I don’t think, we got real news, so there isn’t much else to talk about. And indeed: To me that “miswording“ ( it goes on for two paragraphs/questions) sticks out like a sore thumb and bothered me enough to not order a paper copy, as I originally intended to do. And I‘m not even a Freddie-fan. I guess my problem is, that I love Adam singing Queen so much, that it was a shock and a real disappointment for me. I know it’s my problem. that‘s why I actually didn’t mention it here, after I had read my digital copy on Saturday. But after another similar mistake yesterday, that another poster mentioned, I decided to discuss it. But unfortunately some of you seem to feel personally attacked, when someone is more critical towards Adam. Should we really all write, how great, witty and brilliant he is, when 5 other posters already did that? To me it actually can get boring to read that at some point, when nothing new is added. That’s why I usually don’t do that. But this doesn’t mean, that I don’t see the (bigger) positive side. Should I say, it was brilliant, when I have mixed feelings about it? Are people, who feel disappointed, not allowed to discuss that without getting attacked for being negative? I generally love watching Adam in interviews. I can spend hours doing so. He is witty, clever (mostly 😉) and has a great sense of humor. But no, I don’t think, these last interviews were „brilliant“. He’s human after all. They were good. He does mistakes and it should be possible to talk about these as well.

As far as his smarts ,come on ,the guy is totally brilliant. I enjoy Adam's interviews and don't think he would say anything to intentionally hurt anyone. But he is very close to Brian and Roger and they loved Freddie and they love Adam. I'm sure if they are bothered by anything he said, they will give him pointers that they think require corrections before the next interview. And I wouldn't assume that anyone thinks he's not smart cause some of his comments were not accurate.

I had a very busy week and I probably haven't caught up on everything yet, but from what I have seen on Attitude and out of London I am delighted, more than that, in fact I am totally recharged to see Adam talk so eloquently while looking like a dream and oozing charisma out of every pore. I thought to myself, "he's just heavenly". (the only "down moment" recently was the Build "bowling outfit" here in the US, even though the interview was awesome)
About Adam's comments on Freddie. I don't know much about Freddie except for the obvious - that he was a great musician, that he sang lead for Queen, and that he was gay and died of Aids. So ... can anybody fill me in on Adam's "inaccuracies"? Did Freddie live with a woman for a while that he was not married to? And some people think it is problematic that Adam stated in an interview she was his wife?

I think honest and open discussions in a respectful manner should be embraced, even if it is critical of Adam either in some of his statements, or his demeanors or... even his outfits. I suppose we are all dedicated fans, and that's why it is important for us how he presents himself and Queen. We all love him but he is only human and he makes mistakes. I personally did not catch any inaccuracies from interviews as I either don't know enough or haven't caught up on everything, but I think it gets really boring if only cheerleading is supported and mixed feelings about something get shut down.
