The Forth Barr stadium in Dunedin holds 36,000 people for soccer games and the city is only 122,000 people. Wellington 418,000 population and their Westpac stadium holds about the same number -- 37,000. Auckland 1,628,000 ...Mt Smart stadium holds 47,000. They obviously love their rugby! I was assuming they would be small stadiums. Not so! With QAL STAGING AND SEATING ...guess we will see shortly the capacity the Dainty group is planning for. The even more interesting detail is that Dunelin has about 22 hotels. Just roughly estimating 100 beds each, that's 2200 beds. They better have a tent city set up, if they want to fill 30,000 seats. Or private people will have to take in concert goers. Also, I don't see a commercial airport, just some airfield, without any flights showing. Fine for the Queen planes, but how are the concert goers going to get there? Do they all have to travel to Christchurch first?
This tour is going to have some exciting challenges for those of us who are thinking about logistics. As far as I can tell, they must have planned this whole SE Asia tour as one where both equipment as well as crew is flown from location to location. Is Queen now into renting cargo planes? We shall see. Very excited for Adam, that he gets to do this.
And yes, I also see this ending at Wembley stadium. How exciting this is all going to be.

2020 will mark 50 years of Queen. I bet on a gig in Wembley! Stadium of course. I met up with some other fans this weekend and we were speculating already what year they would count as 50 years. 1970 when Freddie joined Brian and Roger or 1971 when John Deacon completed the band. They will likely celebrate this with a bang though!

Edit: I was curious and checked the QueenOnline Homepage. It says, that Queen was formed in 1971. According to that, they will celebrate their anniversary in 2021.
