I'm fairly new to this group and haven't posted much but not new to Adam. I've been a fan since Idol I just haven't been up on technology. I'm older so I'm getting used to all this. I still think he got sick and is trying to make sure he is fully recovered. I think the absence of a physical CD is a huge factor. I have a lot of friends in my age group who refuse to embrace technology. I've been using Google play, Spotify, and YouTube. None of my friends will do this. I don't think Empire is helping matters. I ordered 3 CDs on day 1 don't have them yet. I'm going to order about 10 more from Amazon shortly for Christmas. Yes I would like to hear from Adam but I am not about to give up. Sorry this is so long hoping everyone will stay with him. I'm sure he cares.

I have been pretty much an eternal lurker on this forum but today I just needed to comment. I also find it disappointing that Adam has not put out anything on social media to assure us that all is well. We know that Velvet Side A came out too late to qualify for Grammy's and then his record company totally screwed up with the distribution of physical copies. He got sick at the most inopportune time. Considering that he is having to foot the bill for everything; I am sure this was very upsetting to him and maybe he just needed to rethink the way forward and didn't want to broadcast to the world that there is a problem. A few things that I have speculated about his silence are as follows: 1. He was not the only one in his band who got sick and couldn't perform on Cordon, etc. 2. He had to get his taxes done and was depressed when he saw how much he had to send to HeWhoCannot amed! I prepare taxes so this was definitely on my mind before October 15th when returns on extension were due. 3. He has been keeping busy concentrating on his diet and getting into tip top shape now that he recovered from being sick. 4. He decided to put down his phone so that the Overglow doesn't overshadow taking care of himself, family and his relationship with Javi. I don't really know what is going on with him but these are a few possibilities that I haven't seen anyone mention. As far as the twitter discussion between sandyrk & PattiHum, those two fans probably have had more personal interaction with Adam than 98% of his fans so their concerns are valid. The one mentioning his psychological condition is a professional psychologist so I am sure that is a strong influence in her trying to figure out what might be going on with Adam. Based on my ideas above, I am sure there are many factors that are playing a roll in causing his silence. For us fans waiting for tidbits of information to satisfy our curiosity, we just need patience and he will be back with us very soon. I'm going out to dinner and a show at a local live musical comedy theater tonight with my cousins and friends...I'm sure Adam would approve! No 2 seems rather unlikely IMO....how do we know he opted to file an extension..he may or may not have and the highest marginal rate now is 37% rather than the 39.6% rate during Obama's final year so not sure how HeWhoCannot amed figures in....lol. I'm sure he pays quite a bit in taxes with his income but this is nothing new and IDT it would cause him to be depressed right now and lead to his recent silence. :D Now should a progressive become President and taxes on the wealthy go way up.....well then that might indeed be depressing. I'm just being snarky and don't wish to start a political debate about tax rates......carry on

I don’t really get all the drama. IMO Adam has barely posted anything private for many months already. It’s not new. It’s almost all „business related“ posts on his social media the whole year already. We only realize it now, because Adam was all over our media with new interviews and suddenly stopped. Almost all private glimpses we got through Javi. Without him, we would often not even know, where Adam is. And about the business decisions: I‘m starting to think, that Adam might have decided to cancel those TV appearances in order to push either another single later (Closer to you (?), because Superpower doesn’t seem to connect that much?) OR „Velvet - Side B“ OR the whole album. Shosh has explained before, that she can only book him once for a TV show during one album circle. That’s why the performances and appearances have to be planned well. With Adam’s unconventional release, this should even be more complicated. Since he hasn’t been on The Late Late Show yet, he can go there for one of the next singles or Side B. This wouldn’t be possible, had he been on the show now. So MAYBE Adam simply decided, that Superpower is not his best shot... Agree with all your points. it is clear from Shosh’s tweet there are some business related changes, imo no need for us to worry about that; we also know by now Adam is not really interested in any significant social media presence, not trying to improve it even as the album was dropping - this was always puzzling to me we heard he had some (physical) sickness that prevented the iHeart performance at the last minute, could’ve lasted a few days but where the mental health speculation is coming from beats me, there is absolutely no basis known to the fans as far as I know; promo dates in EU/UK are scheduled which to me says he is OK health wise; he gave us the heavenly live CTY; I expect absolutely nothing from the US radio; I keep streaming SP around the clock. idk what else to say

It's been really interesting following the different sentiments in reaction to his "absence". And the subject is a bit of a beaten horse at this point, but here's my 2 cents (probably not even worth that much). I've been a fan of Adam since Idol but that doesn't mean he owes me a damn thing. I buy his music and enjoy listening to him sing anything. If he's performing near me I go to a show. I have him as one of my IG followers and on Twitter and like and share stuff if it makes sense. If he stopped performing and sharing his voice I'd be sad for the waste of talent, but there's a world of music out there, so other things would step in. I think some of what's going on is the truly toxic side of social media - this sense of entitlement to information about other people's lives. I'm happy for whatever someone I follow wants to share, but don't expect it, and am under no illusion what I'm seeing is in any way representative of their true life (not matter what is presented). I enjoy what I get, don't miss what I don't and have plenty of my own shit to deal with in between. Off to stream Velvet Side A again. Wise words! twitter.com/1slandgirlljams/status/1185574998573867011

My posts have been very few in the past two years. It isn't because I don't love this site - or the friends who adore Adam, as I do . . . It's because a terrible tragedy happened to me.
I have no idea what's going on with Adam. I haven't even read through this thread. But I see all the angst here, and I have to say . . . Adam is just like us. He has family, friends, situations, problems . . . things that happen in life that are important to HIM, and aren't the stuff that needs to be brought into the limelight. There is a reason he hasn't posted, and it has nothing to do with this fandom. I have no idea what is going on; but I respect Adam and his decisions - of which I know nothing about.
I support and love him because he is the greatest artist in my life. I watch the video of 'Closer to You' and am overwhelmed. What do I want from music? What do I want from an artist? I want to FEEL. I want to BE MOVED. I want to BE INSPIRED. I want TO DANCE. Yes, it's all about me, and what I want. But, sometimes the artist, who brings all this magnificence and wonder to me, melds into a life of his own - one that interferes with promotion, personal appearances, being 'on stage'. I will stand by the artist who puts personal needs above the fans who adore him so much. I'm among them. But I've learned. We need to take care of ourselves. We need to fill our well. We need to stand by those we love and pay attention. If it means we fall away, become less prominent, less important, so be it.
I feel Adam's choices in life are correct ones. He knows what he needs to do.

I think we all can agree that Empire kinda sucks as an indie label or distribution center/service. How can Amazon have CDs out on the release date and Empire and The Adam Lambert Store can't. It appears the CDs are available, but I guess Empire and AL store aren't equipped to send them out. I'm not really clear if Empire and the AL store are connected or two different operations. I'm still getting an occasional email from the Iggy Azelea store that started when I signed up for the AL store. I emailed them their error and they said they'd look into it and crickets ever since.

Sorry this is so long hoping everyone will stay with him. I'm sure he cares. You are not alone ... I'm also relatively new to this forum as well. Although I've had a Twitter account for 5 years, I only used it to vote on The Voice and to "lurk" at current trends. I'm brand new to Spotify since September and have already switched from free to pay so I can play what I want when I want loll! Considering I had over 100 songs on my iTunes wish list this was probably a smart move. None of my friends use Spotify either ... although ALL of us have pretty large iTunes libraries with numerous playlists. I was very confused about whether to go with Spotify, Apple Music, or Amazon and it was actually this forum that helped me select Spotify. This was definitely a mentality shift for me and I'm now comfortable streaming daily, giving the official youtube videos their due, and liking/retweeting when I can. I was lucky enough to get my CD last week and it sure has been great to have it in the car!
