I've finally received my vinyl plus the little coaster set. I no longer have any pending orders with Empire. Yay.

HA! No one ever said that Adam was the first out gay artist. There were lots of them out (even when Adam came on the scene) at some point in their careers and even if they did not start out that way. Adam was the first out artist to get a #1 Billboard album while he was out. What is there to be angry about?

But, as I understand it, Adam was the first gay artist who was out and proud from when he was first signed to a record deal. The significance of that is that he didn't build his career and fandom, making hits, BEFORE he came out publicly. Prior gay artists had already built their reputations, recognition, and fan loyalty and only once firmly established, came out. So, Adam built his pop star career as a gay artist from the very beginning.

I just pointed out about Adam debuting at #1 which no one can change!

Adam was the first who was already out at the time he made number one. Also this is specifically about the US Billboard 200 Album chart.

So, Adam built his pop star career as a gay artist from the very beginning. Yep. Adam was the 1st OUT artist to have a #1 Billboard 200 album in 2012 with Trespassing and Billboard even made a big deal of it being a first. Frank Ocean got a #1 in 2016 with Blonde and Sam got a #1 in 2017. Oddly enough, when Sam got a #1 his people were saying he and Adam were the first out artists to get a number 1. But there was only one first and it was Adam way before Sam, lol. And I still don't know how Sam's people jumped ahead of Frank. HA. I really admire Adam that even when he is left out of something, he never calls out other artist for any perceived slight. I guess Rufus is trying to get publicity for his new album but very disappointing that he would try to use Adam. Adam was the first so any acknowledgement for that achievement was justified and can't be taken away.

I have heard the name Rufus Wainwright and I knew he was gay. But I'm not familiar with his music. Was he a big deal at one time on radio or tv? I don't believe I have ever seen him on anything.
