New selfie in Adam's stories. I can never get stories to come over. Not sure why. I'm sure someone will maybe on a new thread for Sunday!

Somewhat OTT but has anyone seen the new Will Ferrell's movie, Eurovision the Song Contest? Dan Stevens is the antagonist who portrays a Russian pop singer super star who is supposed to win the contest. Will and Dan must have watched the Show Must Go On and based Dan's character on Adam...wardrobe, poses while performing, eye f*****g the camera, the sensuous smile (maybe I'm projecting}, and the male dancers and choreography during his song presentation. I saw shades of Adam's AMA and EMA performances. While as Adam said in TSMGO, "isn't it obvious?" when asked if he was gay, the Dan Stevens' character is Russian and vehemently and sadly denies it with "there are no gays in Russia". Another connection - Savan Kotecha (co-writer on "If I Had You", "Evil in the night", "The Original High", "Things I didn't Say") was executive music producer and wrote most of the songs for the movie... I watched the "Eurovision" movie and found it mostly entertaining actually, may be because it brought back memories of my upbringing in Germany where my whole family used to watch the song contest every year. It was kind of a "big deal" haha, and I remember how I used to find the whole pageantry about it quite entertaining, especially as some countries were known for their unmistakeable unique "flair". Lots of stereotypes in that movie of course, and I am sure that Iceland isn't too thrilled about their representation. The Russian closeted gay guy made me smile but I didn't really make an Adam connection. The movie was so overdone in general that even the male dancers didn't ring a bell for me. loxie, while in hindsight I have to admit that there are some similarities with Adam, I am also feeling a bit uneasy about getting entertained with gay stereotypes. Then again, it is a comedy and where do you draw the line? May be I should watch again at some point, especially as I know now that the executive music producer co-wrote several of Adam's songs (thanks, kryptoman68 ). I am wondering if Adam watched the movie and what he might think.

I am wondering if Adam watched the movie and what he might think. Watched it today on Netflix, hubby laughed a lot. Right when the Russian guy came on he asked if my guy Adam was on (he knows me well). I can totally see the similarity. The "crown" lapel pin worn with two different outfits both looking like Adam's encore get up. His jacket with the jewels (recently sold on the auction), the EMAs long coat, the house that could have been decorated by Freddie. (the actor is British which could help in a connection to Queen). Some of the vocabulary was possible, especially his name. So who knows if it all was coincidence or if Adam is just at the forefront of gay European fashion.
