I finally had a chance to watch Adam's Montreal Pride performance. Great job! Lots of fun! I forgot how much I like Ghost Town, and I agree with others that Love Don't took on some new life. Adam sounded great. My only complaints were the tiger shirt (didn't do him any favors...) and the sometimes overpowering backing tracks. I know some posters commented earlier about him having more freedom to ad lib on Velvet, for example, without backing tracks, but they were sure there. All in all though, a minor quibble. At least we got to see a full show!!
On all the other stuff - loved Michelle O's speech last night; thought Bernie's was good and necessary, and I hope his die-hards will do the right thing this time; hoping, hoping, hoping for change in November.

marionm No problem, one works within the system one has. As you may remember from our song contest, I am a huge fan of ranked choice voting. Maybe this is my way of coping with the state of the world. Sometimes it's just beyond frustrating and unbearable. I can't disagree and all coping mechanisms need to be employed. As they say in my little part of the world, I have been 'so mad I could spit nails'.

The videos that Skaschep is asking about, the ones disappearing, are those pulled by Queen? I'm not sure what she's asking. Or who she's asking, I guess?

marionm , I understand how puzzled you are about our voting system here in the US and the way government is run. It is different, and I would not even know where to start when making comparisons with Germany. Not sure if you got the lengthy dm that I sent you a while back, which also addressed the electoral votes.

Or worse, it will have the opposite impact from what you would want it to have. I find it hard to believe that, say, the Bernie Bros who voted third party in 2016 wanted to see the changes that have taken place over 45's term in office. As long as we have to deal with the electoral college, protest voting is downright dangerous. A 3rd party vote is, essentially, a vote for 45. If that's what you want to do, you have that right, but don't do it thinking your ~purity is more important than the fate of the country. It's a big reason I was impressed with Bernie's speech as well. I'm sure he recognizes that the protest votes from his followers in 2016 likely had an impact on the election out of all proportion to their actual numbers, and he took pains to convince them not to go down that road again. Bernie's speech was important and may I say "classy", and hopefully bitter lessons from the 2016 outcome have been learned. I really like Bernie but I have always found it narrow minded and selfish for a Democrat to protest vote for him. In our two party system, anything but supporting the official Democratic nominee is giving "T" and his Republicans the vote. I've been a Bernie supporter for as long as I can remember and voted for him in the primary both times. He is such an inspiration. I did however vote for Hillary last time for president as the thought of "T" made my head hurt. Now more than ever we need a unified vote for Biden or it's a lost cause.
