I think part of the problem is that the concert is available on other people's channels and it's taking away views from the official Fierté Montréal channel. For example, you can see Adam's part of the concert on Laura O323's channel and it has 2,300 views while fiercealien has uploaded each song separately and has ab out 1000 views per song. It's great that fans re-post Adam's videos (like Roses) but it means less official views.

I'm with those who find the US news globally relevent. It is all interconnected, and according to Adam's tweets lately he is greatly affected by it too. svca , my heart goes out to you and your family. I am sending my sincerest wishes to you and your family for mercy from this relentless fire.

I adore Adam, but I must admit that between the politics and our current fight to stay safe from all the fires burning, my interest in voting in polls, or to even listen to his music incessantly is not my first priority. Right now we are hoping and praying and crossing fingers and toes that our family doesn't lose their homes. All of our immediate family is in this area, and has had to evacuate. My day is spent texting and calling to make sure everybody is safe. So, so looking forward when I can enjoy just listening to music and watching videos again. I wish there was something we could do to help you. Agreed that when facing the kind of crises you are, voting in polls and getting more views on videos fades in importance. All our years of voting doesn't seem to have helped much in terms of Adam getting a hit song, but I do it because it keeps his name in front of other fan bases and it's become a habit, LOL. In Vancouver we've had the worst summer I can remember in a while - maybe a week of hot, sunny days in total. We're already back to cool, rainy weather. Between that and being laid off work since mid-March, I've had loads of free time (which is a change), so it's been great to indulge in hours of Adam videos and music - but it won't last. We're do to go back to work in 2 weeks. I don't want to sound like an entitled fan either, but I (and other fans on Twitter) wish Adam would engage just a little more with his fans. He's got more free time than usual, I suspect, (like a lot of us) and it would be fantastic if he could do a twitter party or a live IG here and there. I don't know what other stars do as far as fan engagement goes. Adam says he appreciates his Glamberts, but he doesn't connect with us very often on social platforms and doesn't post a whole lot on IG. It doesn't stop me loving him and his music, of course!

Fan engagement is a strange thing, I think. Of course, musicians “love” their fans. In general. Individually, of course, that is absurd. To me, “twitter parties” come across as ... unnatural and often awkward. I think Adam is never going to be that guy spending time trying to generate social media “content.” (I think it is because he is too real for that.) Of course, who wouldn’t love to be a fly on his wall? I know I would! And some celebs love to live their lives like that - with their every move “out there.” But ... I find that off-putting, really.
Adam shares what he wants, and that is all I want him to share. I like when he is interviewed, I like when he is moved to share something serious (like his political views) or aesthetic (like art, architecture, movies, and shows, etc.) and, of course, it’s fun when he chooses to share family and friends stuff, etc. One could argue, “artists today have to do social media” or “he would be more popular if he did more social media.” But not all artists actually are on social media and I think Adam is content with his level of “content.” There is a lot to be said for him having the ratio of public/private that feels comfortable and organic to him. I think he treasures the life he has created for himself, and I like to think of him living it. If some of that is his wanting to be on social media, great - if not, for me, fine too. Probably means he’s doing something more fun.
Anyway, that is just how I look at it.

And everyone deals with the stress of these times in their own unique, individual way.. maybe his way is to have less time in the public eye and more private time for now. Adam is only human like the rest of us. I hope he takes care of himself and his mental health first and foremost, and am glad whatever and whenever he is moved to share with his fans.

I think you said it perfectly. I am one who is not in need of constant social media attention from Adam. He does what he is comfortable doing I guess. It seems enough to me. But I love to hear from him when something is happening in HIS career of course. Not all that interested in his friends, lol. I like to hear his political views but some don't. So they fight with him or don't care or they get upset. I must be hurtful for him to be told that some only want him to entertain. There is no way for us to know what he is doing with his free time or what he is feeling about all of this turmoil and the album launch/QAL setbacks. So he could be chilling (which may not be a bad thing) or working on something new. He can't be expected to keep everyone entertained at the level they want tho. And I can't stand those celebrities who can't get off of social media and think they need to tell everyone everything or get involved in every event. All of Adam's fans are different. Expectations and wants are not all the same. We find different ways to keep him in our hearts. And a lot of content is brought over and posted. I just pulled up on my tv screen, from youtube, of him performing Dragon Attack in that red fur jacket and tight, tight pants. Sexy. I could not stop smiling. Then I pulled up a few more gems before turning back to some political shows and world events. I needed the distraction for a bit and he delivered big. HA. ETA: pi said it perfectly too!!!!

Another page full of politics... I know, it’s THE topic in the US right now. But for me, living on the other side of the world, it’s not. I started to avoid this forum. I don’t know, if others feel like me, but if so, maybe it’s possible to discuss politics in a different section of the forum? Sorry, to interrupt... Yes, I hear you!! I agree with some here that the political situation in the US is somewhat relevant for this forum, since Adam lives there and it is his political situation too. But when I am here, I am here to escape the current situation for a bit. To read about what inspires us. To giggle about the current joke on twitter of some people who have returned to the Glamnation period and are posting pictures of Adam being very *excited* about being on stage. To read about the new DVD and what we think of the selection of shows. About who was at these shows and hopes to see themselves in this video. Some people are making new fan art. Velvet is not done yet, at least, I am not done with Velvet yet. There are many things to feel and think about it still. Also.... I just got the signed LP last week and it is absolutely beautiful. Magical!! I don't want to close my eyes for what is happening in the world, but for me the power play in the middle east, what is happening in Belarus, the worrisome resurgance of the extreme right in Eastern Europe, the shambles of Brexit and also, the rise to power of Asiatic countries, they are at least as important as anything the US is doing. Yes, I agree with Adam, you in the US, please please vote the current government out. But I am not looking to read anything about that here. I agree with nightowl , maybe you can find another section of the forum for (US) politics? And in the meantime, stay strong and throw a bit of glitter around. That helps, even now. Big hug to all of you. Edit: Q3 I just read the first page of today's thread and the warning that the forum will be closed down for a while if it's not possible to keep political discussions manageable. I would ask you to keep the personal messages open for everyone if that happens, since it is the only way that I can reach some people. Thank you.
