Happy New Year everyone!! Best of luck to all. May all your wishes come true and may we all have great music by Adam Lambert in our lives 😃💜
I really like the new song, Holding Out for a Hero, but I kinda prefer the live version he did on ITV Lottery New Year's Eve event, sounded a bit different than the studio version.

(I posted this in yesterday's thread first) John Legend's Trailer Talk - Chat and duet with Adam before The Voice performance I found the whole thing on Youtube here www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmzgnOHhaog&t=638s(I also agree with some who didn't like John's part... On first listen John sounded too shouty, especially in the beginning. But listening to them talk, Adam is also more soft-spoken, and it could also be about microphones - how close or far away they are... Anyway, it is not too bad, it is a nice duet, but I am definitely more looking forward to Adam doing this solo. John's voice doesn't do much for me...)

There's another 14 track album that came out in 2014 and is titled "The Very Best of Adam Lambert" and it covers the Idol, FYE and TP eras. It includes Idol favorites like "One", "Tracks of My Tears", and of course "Mad World", and it also has "Can't Let You Go", "Marry The Night" and "Runnin" in it. Love that one. Ah, yes, I know about that album, I guess I just don't really count it as his release... But technically, I suppose that Billboard article was correct and High Drama is number 6...

Wow I am really impressed by the whole production of that Voice performance of Ordinary World. The staging, the way they made it black and white and then how the colours came in slowly, the ending. And of course, Adam Lambert's voice is the best ever - I am not surprised that this performance gave such a boost to the song's chart position. I am guessing he will perform the same song on the Jonathan Ross show. I wonder if the staging and concept will be similar (I notice in the promo photo for that show that he is also dressed all in white)

A question...
Billboard article says "The singer also announced that the new track was just a taste of what fans could expect off of his forthcoming sixth studio album, High Drama. "
Sixth? What am I missing?
1 For Your Entertainment 2 Trespassing 3 The Original High 4 Velvet 5 ?? (are they counting Live Around the World - but that is not a studio album, it's a live album, so...)

I really love the new release - and totally agree that Adam Lambert + piano + violins is a perfect match - Ordinary World sounds really great. It will be interesting to hear all the other songs too - I have not heard a few on that list

So grateful for all the wonderful people who post videos from the concerts. Watching the Nessun Dorma being performed was great. But then I downloaded just the audio (from a pretty good youtube video that I found) and just played it on my headphones - and when I tell you I cried, no I wept - his interpretation is so moving, there is the drama and spectacle, but also some tenderness in certain words... Singing is not just about the high notes or even about hitting the right notes all the time - though we know how flawless he is at both of those things - but Adam Lambert really is on a whole other level as a singer. There was also such emotion and understanding of what he was singing in this performance. I do wonder if he has had some discussions with a vocal coach and how/when he rediscovered this aria recently - because he probably learned it way back when he was a teen, but you cannot sing something like this at 18-19 in the same manner, with the same feelings 20 years later. He has grown so much as a singer and an artist (and a person), so I am not surprised at all, but I do wonder why he is revisiting this piece - apart from the fact that it is really beautiful. Anyway, I found this translation of the Nessun Dorma aria online: None shall sleep, None shall sleep! Even you, oh Princess, In your cold room, Watch the stars, That tremble with love And with hope. But my secret is hidden within me, My name no one shall know, No... no... On your mouth, I will tell it, When the light shines. And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine! Vanish, o night! Set, stars! Set, stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! And this is the youtube video that I took the audio from. There is probably some loss in all the format conversions, but I don't care, it was still amazing and it will have to do until someone makes an even better downloadable version. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYSLb5tpIZs

So, I haven't been here in a while, sorry, real life stuff, but you just know I have to come out to flail about that flawless Nessun Dorma, and to see others flailing lol - what a wonderful surprise and how amazing it was to hear Adam Lambert singing that little snippet. Chills, chills. And being transported into another place. He is truly marvellous, I wish he would do more opera, but I'll take whatever I can get. Maybe I missed this, but in the context of the full show, when did they play/sing this - in between which songs? Funny that you asked - 5 minutes ago I had to fix the setlist.fm wiki which had it listed incorrectly after Killer Queen. www.setlist.fm/setlist/queen-adam-lambert/2022/unipol-arena-casalecchio-di-reno-italy-3b571cf.htmlIn fact, it was between Don't Stop Me Now and In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited. The very first video posted on Instagram actually included the surrounding songs. Possibly to make room for it, both Tear It Up and Sever Seas Of Rhye was skipped. Thanks so much for your reply. I had been wondering about how it fit, or how it would flow with the rest of the concert. It is such a showstopper that I knew it had to have been done in a way that makes sense not to disrupt the flow...
Btw, I love the looks on Brian's and Roger's faces while Adam was singing - they are all enjoying this tour so much, living their best life - it's so lovely to see!
