OT Friends of mine left for Vegas this morning with her 21 year old step daughter (his daughter). He's an air marshal so he's been flying this whole time, hasn't had any problems. He had to quarantine about 2 months ago when he got back can't remember what country it was. He says planes are the cleanest place in the world nowadays lol. I'm really interested to see what she has to say when they get back. He says their are still flights going to the EU. Not sure under what circumstances. Back to Adam! Gorgeous new pic woke me right up this morning! I don’t think planes are the problem as much as the passengers! Adam - Always nice to read comments from interviewers and others about what a genuinely nice guy he is. Talking about flying. In Canada, I'm seeing more headlines of authorities contacting passengers who have been on flights with positive case people. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/passengers-on-4-flights-landing-at-yvr-warned-of-possible-covid-exposure-1.5635164

I am also feeling nostalgic as I realize three of my QAL concerts have happened around this time. I've actually only seen Adam perform with Queen. Due to circumstances, I haven't been able to see Adam do his solo music. One day ... The first time I saw Adam perform was June 28, 2014. It was wonderful to see QAL posters on the telephone poles and to think that Adam and I were in the same city and that I could possibly bump into him. I had just made contact with mszue in person and I met fiercelier that day. Fun fans!! Also Jablea found me in the arena and introduced herself. It is so nice to meet in person!! I was blown away by the concert. The noise was thunderous and the water shook in my water bottle! I loved, loved Adam in his gold fringe outfit singing Killer Queen on the chaise longue. Still my favourite! July 1, 2017 (Canada Day) I flew in a float plane harbour to harbour -- I was like a little kid anticipating the ride of a life time! Way too many people in downtown Vancouver, so we watched the fireworks from Queen Elizabeth Park. July 2 was my second QAL concert. This time we had better tickets and it was so nice to be that much closer to the stage. I came out of that concert singing Spread Your Wings and feeling like I was flying again. I have no idea why they dropped that song soon after. I am very grateful I had a chance to see him perform it live. (Not a fan of the red hair though.) July 10, 2019 Just last year and how things are so different now! It is weird because I'm pretty sure I picked up a nasty virus on that trip -- public transit or hanging out with a roaring crowd in an arena or somewhere else? I ended up with a fever and a horrible cough that lasted a month or more. Foreshadowing?? Well, the show was still worth it! In this time of self-isolating, it is really nice to have all these wonderful memories. Sniff:: that was the 2nd and last time I saw Adam. Once solo GNT and then first round of QAL. Haven't left my town, and hardly my house, it seems since the start of 2017 so this quarantine biz is just normal life. The 2014 concert however seems like just yesterday. Gee, are you still taking care of your Dad?

Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians! This is going to be a very boring Canada Day! Usually, they get a crowd of people in red and white T-shirts in front of the Legislature Building to make a human flag and take a photo. Follow up that with an all day concert, ending in fireworks which we always go to see. Lots of people milling around and having a good time!! Not this year. Boo! However, as satisfied said, I am feeling grateful. Happy to live in Canada and happy to follow Adam's career on Adamtopia!

I'm a bit naive sometimes! It didn't occur to me that Adam might be gay until much later. I was just captivated by his performances on AI. I don’t think that makes you naive Happy. To me it just means that we can’t stereotype people. The other thing that struck me how genuinely nice he seemed.

I think fans just like different looks and styles on Adam. If you don't like one look or style that someone else prefers, it somehow becomes a gay thing. He is gay no matter what look he has on. For me, the more costume looks are not my favorites. I didn't care for the spacesuit like baggy short pants for TOH. There wasn't anything gay about the look but it made me think of something Bieber would wear (right or wrong, lol) Now this era the wardrobe was so polished and sharp but by no means tame. Edgy. GMA. El Rey. NY youtube. The Talk. UK Strictly. A Home for the Holidays. Corden. Now that was a sharp dressed man every time. Was he any less gay? No he wasn't. A more mature and stylish look. YES and YES. But Adam is a whole person. And he chose these styles and looks because that was what he wanted. He said he wanted to do more authentic music and he did. He even named some artists that caught his attention. I think it was all less pop and a more mature style. I love it and i love "Velvet". It was not forced on him by the evil suits. Not sure why we can't like what we like. I love most of his Queen outfits. They are not tame either but they generally don't look like costumes. OTT sometimes but in a rockstar kind of way. Maybe we should just get out of each others head and stop trying to figure out why someone likes a look or not. Most of the time people will say what and why they like something and there is no need to put another's spin on it. No one is shy here. I think he looks lovely in makeup but don't care for it when it really heavy with a lot of glitter. Also don't care for the beard when it is too heavy. Don't care for the shaved head. Or the bright red or green or grey hair. I don't think about his sexuality when I like or dislike a particular look. And I understand Adam will wear and look the way he wants. But I get to like one look over another anyway, lol. Same. For me, liking or disliking something has very little to do with Adam's sexuality, but there are looks that I find more appealing and flattering than others. Would I tweet or message Adam about it negatively? No. (Now that I think about it, even back on Idol did I not associate the "eyeliner" with Adam's sexuality, and this may sound totally aloof but we kept watching for weeks until my husband was wondering if Adam was gay lol. It may have been ROF haha. We shrugged if off and kept watching and became huge fans. Back then I was not even on any fan forums or social media and I didn't even know about that famous Entertainment Weekly cover. We were just "casual fans" who voted every week. Once Adam lost in the finale, I joined my first fan forum and I rapidly learned a lot about Adam by watching Youtube videos from his earlier days. A whole new world opened up haha) I'm a bit naive sometimes! It didn't occur to me that Adam might be gay until much later. I was just captivated by his performances on AI.

MSZUE, your post made my day as well!!! I've been through a harrowing experience over the past 11 days. A raging forest fire came very close to my home in Colorado - it's a miracle that our house is still standing. I was evacuated with my kitty for five days, and due to our (and particularly my DH's) fire mitigation efforts and the valiant work on the part of all the firefighters, our home was saved. MOMTOMANY, can't help but think of your horrible forest fire experiences. But you survived and thrived through it all, and I take that as a wonderful example for me to follow. I'm thrilled at the response from TSMGO on Netflix - seems like SO many new Adam fans! And MSZUE, the message from your Arkansas friends was so very touching - brought tears to my eyes. Thanks so much for sharing. And being able to get together with your wonderful fellow Glamberts (whom I met in Vegas during the Crown Jewels residency) was so heartwarming to hear. I need this good news in my present shell-shocked state. Adam and Adamtopia continue to be my lifelines!!! I'm really late reading this thread, but just had to express my sympathy with all you've been through! Sounds really scary!! I'm so glad your family and house are okay!

I just got a delightful email from my Arkansas friends who never really 'got' my Adam fanship. The just watched TSMGO on Netflix: "I had begun watching The Show Must Go On a day or so ago because DH was in the garage and I figured he wouldn't be interested. But I barely got started before I had to stop. So tonight we sat down to watch something and I brought that up but figured DH would protest. Well...long story short, now he can't stop talking about Adam and how talented he is and how awesome it is that he's the front person for these old icons and how their tour is a demonstration of how we need the old hippies to work alongside the younger generation in order to change the world and this mess we're in here in the U.S. I am pleased by his response. That's what struck me as much as the talent, i.e., just being able to step into that role, not just in terms of his talent and his range, but also the level of confidence and authenticity that required. And the fact that he's doing it in such Adam style and color. I mean, Brian May has had the same hair style, literally, for decades. And here's gorgeous Adam in all his flaunting beauty singing out his heart and soul on those stages, in front of those masses of people, right next to these old, gray haired hippie icons is a hopeful visual for me. You know? Like maybe we can bridge the gap. Maybe the young voters will save us this November. If Adam's people and Queen's people can come together for music on that massive scale then perhaps they can come together politically, environmentally. You know what I mean?" What a great message to wake up to this morning, after a perfectly lovely day yesterday driving off island to Fiercelier's beautiful home to sit and lunch-visit, with Happy, like life was almost normal! LOL. Life is good! What a wonderful post!! I'm way behind and just saw it. Really nice when friends get your addiction! And also I like the sentiments your friends are expressing.
