Nigel Lythgoe @dizzyfeetRT @marlenarosie:Overheard in London:Queen fan: "this guy LOST American Idol?? Who the fuck won..Jesus Christ??" [ADAM LAMBERT IS GREAT!!!] int-er-es-ting.... Good ol' Nigel tweeting about Adam. And Adam on Idol, nonetheless. Gah, I am seriously starting to wish the Idol judging rumor is true and he has mad success with it. MORE than interesting! Just the fact that he chose to RT AND with that comment... makes me happy....

I thought the person doing Brian May's site would overlook this one. BrianMayCom @brianmaycom www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/live-music-reviews/9395281/Queen-Adam-Lambert-Hammersmith-Apollo-review.html TELEGRAPH Adam Lambert can certainly handle the vocal range of Queen’s songs although he lacks Freddie Mercury’s rock.. ETA: There's 17 comments now and I'm enjoying reading the positivity. Oh, here's a new term in one of them: Maylorberts! LOL No hostility here, Mr. McCormick is entitled to (and paid for) his opinion. I, however, found last night's concerts one of the most moving experiences of my life and I wasn't even there. Watching the Youtube videos, I found myself smiling, singing along, clapping, laughing and, yes, finding tears rolling down my face. Congrats to Queen and to Adam Lambert. You are turning us all into Maylorberts.

Forget PH---anybody who matters in the industry doesn't give a sh*t what he thinks; he has issues, obviously
That tweet from Nigel is REALLY interesting. Trying so hard not to get excited about the AI rumors.

I learned from the Queen documentary that Queen has endured a lot of negative press, criticisms, and ups and downs. The scathing reviews are nothing new. To this day, they have their detractors in the press even in their homeland where they are royalty.
They can understand the challenges Adam faces because they have lived through a lot and endured. I admire the way they have stood up to all the criticism by keeping on. They are very courageous. So is Adam. And I feel that Adam will triumph the way Queen has. But I fully expect there will always be detractors who unfairly attack him and dismiss his immense talent. Sad but true, and it's not to say that my blood doesn't boil when I read the filth some jealous haters will write. But, I feel that as long as he converts enough of the public and press, he can have the career he deserves.
I'm pretty excited because overall the press has been fantastic.

Back home after spending two days on an island with friends. Luckily no rain so we could sit outside all day and evening, have a swim and sauna, BBQ etc. One of the group was a bit younger (17) and she had her tablet with her. Guess what song she played all afternoon on repeat yesterday? Well, NCOE of course!!! This afternoon spent in trying to read what I missed and saving links etc. Now trying to decide if I should listen to the first concert in London... there is just enough time for that. But what if there is a stream today and I would need to do the same songs all over again with almost no break at all, hmmm. No problem with the music again only with the 10 hours sitting and staring at my screen. Maybe I should take a short break and concentrate on tonight's offerings... if I am strong enough to resist the temptation of YTs. :-/

I too wondered if Trespassing would seem a little lightweight after Queenbert but it doesn't! If anything I found it sounds even better with the richness of this experience this week. Very happy others feel the same.
Outside of country music, ageism is rampant. I'm sorry but not surprised Brian and Roger have to face it. Not long ago I had the chance to see Gordon Lightfoot in concert (seems like someone on this board makes fun of him but whatever). Lightfoot has been been seriously ill to the point of near death, and his voice is nothing like it used to be, but it was still a fun evening and to me personified the triumph of the creative spirit against age and illness.
The next day I went and read comments by "fans," not critics about him and was surprised to see many comments to the effect that he should hang it up, he was an embarrassment to those remembered his work in his prime, etc. I was shocked. Why the hell shouldn't he perform if he wants to and people still want to see him?
Some of what we have come face to face with in this fan journey isn't pretty, and the homophobia, sexism, and ageism have certainly opened my eyes.

After watching that concert last night.....who ever said Adam was lacking Freddies passion (EMA performance) I hope they watched the past few nights show. If not, well, they must be blind! Last night was AWESOME. I found myself crying and falling in love w/ him all over again........

I LOVE the parts in this review about Adam! LOL The reviewer thought Adam returned on stage with flip flops. Rating: Very easily a 5/5 news: Adam Lambert and Queen rock out Hammersmith Apollowww.4music.com/news/reviews/5214/Adam-Lambert-and-Queen-rock-out-Hammersmith-ApolloCan Adam Lambert step into Freddie Mercury's shoes?Legendary band Queen took the stage last night for the first of three London dates, with Adam Lambert as frontman. Lead singer Freddie Mercury tragically passed away in 1991 and since then, it seemed as though the band lost their spark. Now with the guest vocals of Lambert, they are re-energized for 2012. The gig was a massive night of sing-along rock, featuring all the old school Queen classics, including Don’t Stop Me Now, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You and Under Pressure. Adam Lambert fit effortlessly into the void left by Freddie Mercury. No one could replace Freddie, but Adam's stage presence is electrifying and he possesses one of the best male vocals of our generation. What's most impressive is how Adam Lambert connects with the music, despite not writing a single note of it. more...
