Hey, just answering the question of what other SOLO MALE SINGERS, who are not urban, have had a hit or hits on Pop radio in the last couple of years since Adam has been releasing singles. The original question did not say: 1. not on a reality singing competition 2. not a singer songwriter type 3. not a guitar player 4. not a Brit 5. not on his first hit 6. not.....the list could go on and on...... lolol you're right. I was thinking of the Cuckoo vs NCOE conversation earlier, with apologies ;D As a woman, I love that women are succeeding in the music industry, and wish that they had the same kind of clout in films. However, I also love Adam, and find the genre limitations on men nowadays ridiculous. Limiting men to wgwg or urban is as unfair as limiting women to chick flicks or the so role in action flicks. On top of that, I HATE singer-songwriter stuff, and I totally love fast, clubby songs, which is why I love Trespassing. It's all very depressing. Adam does fast and clubby better than Kesha, Gaga, or Perry.

good news from German radio: after being out of the Top 50 on the mainstream (I think comparable to HAC) chart a few weeks ago, NCOE re-entered the Top 50 last week and this week reached its highest position at #36. It's not very good, but it is moving into the right direction ;D www.radiocharts.com/html/charts_de_mainstream.htm(note that Pink's new single went to #1 its first week)

Ok, still in the BB200 Trespassing is holding on, now if we can just get something to give him a few little bumps in sales.

Yep - I would love it so much if that something could be one of his "Trespassing" songs being featured on So You Think You Can Dance. Is that the sort of thing you think might give it a bump?

You're right! You didn't say it but I did. You offered me that list as a response to my words " superstar hitmaker". And those guys especially NAL don't meet that criteria IMO. I understand YOUR point but to come at me like I was completely clueless about other males especially with NAL and those other guys is not addressing MY point and making up your own criteria. That's fine but why cite MY words? You could have ignored me. As you can see, those guys you gave me are not "solo male hitmakers" on the pop charts and/or bands not solo acts. Yes, it's possible Levine could go solo and maintain hits on POP but for now, he's Maroon 5. My simple point was, Adam is trying to BREAK uniquely solo pop male, with at least another hit and I could even say...as a record STAR to match his celebrity (since his detractors are fast to point out that his charts don't match his ~celebrity or that he's not even a celebrity)...and it's not EASY. He said so himself. So I guess he doesn't see himself like Daughtry. Who, IMO is sort of a WGWG, too. Not easy if you're a white, non urban, male solo act [leaving out the ghey here, too]. Beibs may not be traditionally urban but his entire team is, and his new song is. Instead of resorting to the traditional [valid] "reasons", like the songs are not catchy, he's gay, Idol stigma, PDs hate Glamberts, he waited too long, blah blah blah, I was rounding out another aspect of why his efforts are difficult. And that goes for ANY non urban male (maybe not named Bruno Mars who is quite urban-sh anyway - he has a boatload of urban awards, Soul Train, Urban Music, MOBO, BET, Best Rap, Best R&B, ALMA...the list goes ON). I do happen to think he DID wait too long but it's not pejorative because I understand the reasons. But that doesn't make it not partially his or RCA's fault. Mariah said she spent her entire early career in the studio churning out music with no life. That's the way it goes for them. And not everyone is lucky like RiRi with a defined sound and songs being handed to her that radio will embrace just by virtue of her name. Which is another thing Adam did for the second time. He chose unique music to define himself. Now, I'm all for it, and understand that BTIKM and NCOE were supposed to be the defining songs that led back to WWFM as pop hits. But it didn't happen. So he's starting over again, the hard way. I actually gave Adam props for fusing funk into his new sound because I thought maybe it would break him into the urban fan base a little and thought maybe he thought so too. I have no idea though, if that is true.

There are very few superstars....period. Does a / mean "either/or", or does it mean "both" to you? I took it as either/or. I listed artists who had hits on the CHR charts in the past two years- they made hits. They were hitmakers. All along, I've been hoping for JUST ONE HIT from this album! If Adam had JUST ONE song from TSP that did as well as WWFM, things would be very different at this point in this album era. I never expected something like "four or five #1s!!!!!" off of TSP or from any other album that has ever been released in the history of music. Unrealistic expectations are usually set ups for a disappointing reality. So, what do I wish for? The same thing I've hoped for since the FYE era was over- ONE radio hit that does as well as WWFM did. There have been a few male solo pop artist that have had a hit over the past three years, Adam is one of those few who have managed to do this. I was hoping for the same thing this era. Getting ONE hit song was possible, Adam did it with WWFM and the others I listed did it with their songs. WWFM was the right song at the right time and that is something Adam hasn't had this era..yet.
