Okay, I wanted to keep this off the daily thread but it's really bothering me how Joshua is getting criticized for 'screaming through the song' and 'not coming out as gay'.
It sounds exactly to me like the criticism of Adam in season 9. I don't care if Joshua is gay or not and he's obviously sensitive about it. Some of the comments remind me of Perez's bullying of Adam.

We had a lot of fun with this on twitter last night. I am afraid we were Jr High School mean girls :( Playing on the Santa Monica Pier may be the strangest thing an Idol has ever done! I think he was trying to drum up some PR! But it was bad PR, he is not some indie artist. This did not reflect well on the AI brand (a winner) and his management (he was bored even though he has a new album coming out in 3 weeks' time). i am excited about Adam's forthcoming Idol appearance - hope there will be a huge bump on his album sales! |

I LOVE JOSHUA!!! I thought tonight was a great show! I hate to see any of these 4 go home! Phillip should go home and the judges keep praising him. I really hope there is a voter backlash because that second song of his was horrible! I mean it could be the worst vocal of the season. I want a Skylar and Joshua Finale! I think it would be so much fun! |

The thing about Phillip (practical joker?) is that he is always fooling around and you are never sure what he is going to do, so Joshua (gay or straight) may have been wary because of that.
I thought Jessica's second song "You Are So Beautiful" was amazing -- she sang beautifully! I was also really impressed with Hollie last night.

I thought the Phillip/Joshua thing was funny and yes it probably is because he's getting called Gay.
When he is not performing he seems introverted, shy and not at all comfortable in interviews. When the idols visited TMZ some jerk joked about the 'gay' thing and the look on Joshua's face said it all.
I want Joshua or Jessica to win! I'd love to hear Joshua sing 'Unchained Melody'.

Sad to see Skylar go.
The judges gave Carrie a standing "O." It is onyl the second one this year. The other one was for Scotty. Oh, and Carrie did not sound good at all. Surprising because I think she has a really great voice.
