Sad to see Skylar go. The judges gave Carrie a standing "O." It is onyl the second one this year. The other one was for Scotty. Oh, and Carrie did not sound good at all. Surprising because I think she has a really great voice. I like her voice, I hope she makes it in country music, she is fun to watch. I can't believe Coldplay did two songs, have that ever happened before? I mean yes in DWTS but Idol?

Sad for Skylar -- didn't much like her voice -- just don't like that nasal country twang -- but I could see she is a natural on stage. I hope she does well in Nashville. Does this mean we don't get to hear the song she wrote?
I found Adam's acknowledgement of the band after every performance very endearing during his season. You would think the other idols might follow his example.

I thought she was the right girl to go out. I'd prefer Hollie's voice over hers, and Hollie did perform better with her 2 songs. But I have a feeling that Skylar will do much better than Hollie after Idol.
The one that should go last night was P2! But my DH was so happy that he stayed. He thinks P2 is interesting to watch even though he agrees that his voice is not the best. So there..one of the reasons why people vote for P2! It's not really all about the voice Adam.
Well, I guess you can say that is true to all kinds of competitions really. It's all about the connection and the way you present yourself.

I could not listen to a whole album of that voice!

To tell you the truth, he only buys singles on the songs that he likes, doesn't matter who the singer is. He hears it, he likes it then he buys it. He even told me that he thought Stefano's song was catchy and fun and he's thinking buying it.
I know he got a couple songs from Colton , and probably from P2 too.
Idol is one of the shows on TV that he likes, and he likes watching interesting & entainning people and not really care much about who should win the competition.
He hopes to see P2 and Dave Mathews Band sing in the finale!

Interesting what people like or don't like. I find it slightly disturbing watching Phillip's face as he tries to hit those high notes.
I've been thinking about Jessica and Joshua -- great singers -- but their personalities are just not coming across. Maybe they are shy. I still think all the time given to Jimmy Iovine takes away from the contestants and we don't get a chance to get to know them better.

We don't get the back story on them and find out about them more personally. Although, I do like Jimmy's critiques this year. Much better than the judges. I think Jessica and Joshua are both shy. This is a very young Top 5!

Yes, Jimmy's critiques are much better than the judges. The judges on The Voice seem to be even worse. I usually fast forward through them and they seem to talk forever.

I haven't watched since the travesty of Season 8, but I will YouTube performances that are supposedly moments like Jessica's "I Will Always Love You". I YouTubed Joshua's "When a Man Loves a Woman" and I didn't hear anything special. Is it just me? Also, not sure if anyone has seen this tweet from Kris:
On March 15th, Kris Allen tweeted: Kris Allen@krisallen I think @jledetai11 is the best singer that's ever been on the show.
I was just surprised as he heard Adam's singing all the time. Guess he didn't think it was the best. :(

Not very nice, huh?! Especially considering all the pimping he's gotten from Adam. Not to mention it is untrue. Joshua is very, very good and I am a fan. But he does not have the control or the range that Adam has. He is close to Fantasia's style. I would actually say that Jessica, in terms of control and range is closer to Adam. She just needs some years to get the ability to interpret the way Adam can.
