X-Factor Season 2

There were two very good singers on X Factor tonight. Worth following them I think. They couldn't be more different. One was a 13 year old singing Feeling Good. Could not believe the voice that came out of her and she was very refreshing. The other guy was over the top personality wise but also had a very good voice.

Ugh. I was upset about Jason Brock, the OTT guy who did New York State of Mind. I knew the comparisons with Adam Lambert would begin immediately. He had the shoepolish black emo hair, which wasn't at all appropriate for his age, he was puffy, which haters accused AL as being (he obvs struggles with weight and when Heidi Klumm said you're lucky, he said, I'm so SO not lucky." Wirey Sauli can lose fat more easily.) He was flamboyant, which people say AL is, but he is more refined and never THIS campy, he talked abt glitter--so 2009, lol. And he reached some of the higher parts of AL's range, but in a screechy way that ppl accused AL of doing. The judges were amused by and condescending to him at the same time. They held back the smirks (barely) and looked at each other like, is this guy flaming or what? I found it insulting. The worse part is that I thought he was a joke contestant because the singing was meh. Low-rent Adam Lambert indeed.

Umfortunately, it occurred to me that this is prolly how much of the country still sees Adam (including PDs and DJs). They don't see how he dials the outrageousness back when appropriate, and lets his "freak flag" fly when appropriate. They regard him as kind of a laugh but not to be taken seriously. A mere caricature of the person we have come to know from seeing all his sides through the fandom.

I saw the comments ppl were making about him being the love child of Liberace and Adam. I dunno. I felt it was a little insulting , and how the judges were fawning over the guy prolly to show they are ok with the gay. The guy was likeable enough, but it they ever needed to cast AL's part as a 45-year-old torch singer in Vegas, here's your guy. It was a bit like after Elvis became a caricature and punchline.

I am watching XF and really enjoying it this year. I hated it last season. I'm enjoying the chemistry between the judges. Could not stand Nicole!
My favorite contestant sso far is Jessica Espinoza. She did that P!NK song justice!

I haven't been watching yet.. but it seems a contestant Jeffery Gutt .. sang Hallelujah .. lives in my little town.. or did.. he is a 1994 graduate of my DDs High School

tonight was our Homecoming football game and he sang the NAnthem.. I wasnt embarassed for him so I guess he did ok..

he was also in the little homecoming parade.. with the Queens court and the sports teams etc..class floats (made out of canned food to be donated).. he rode in a car with a marker made sign on the door.. haha we do things right here in po'dunk usa..

Before the parade started I passed him and his bodyguard on the sidewalk..my friend pointed him out..but actually it was his bodyguard who I thought i recognized...haha

I would swear the bodyguard is the same as the bodyguard some of the idols have used.. to funny.. big bald guy.. looks like a suemo (sp) wrestler.. wearing a blue shirt.. really I swear its the same guy..

not sure what it says when you think you recognize the bodyguard over the singer..

anyway I took an extremely shaky vid of him singing the NA if anyone is interested..

ETA.. word around town is that he made it thru.. so I don't know what that means exactly.. how much is pre-taped...it hasn't gone live yet right? so if he has a bodyguard already maybe he has made it to the live rounds ????? *shrug*

if someone offered me a million bucks to pick him out of a line up.. i would lose.. I would never recognize him with out the bodyguard.. trufax.. NO xFactor sorry..
